Scripture Challenge - Compassion

Our God is a compassionate God, isn't He? I just love this verse in on my page from 2 Corinthians. Verse 4 goes on to say:
"...who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."
God sent us the Great Comforter when He sent Jesus! Jesus Christ set the ultimate example of living a life of compassion and love towards others. My desire is to be a woman of compassion! I want to see the needs of those around me. I want to be aware of the hurts and pains of others. I want to be loving towards those that seem unloveable (and the loveable ones too lol). I want to be nonjudgmental and accepting. You know what? There are a lot of us in this big crazy world! We're all different with different thoughts, habits, talents...different EVERYTHING!! lol You know what else? Jesus loves every single one of us! So if I want to be like Jesus...I'm going to love every single one of us too, right? :o)

40 Day Challenge - Day 7 - Metal

It took me FOREVER to find some metal bits! I finally found these rusty metal pieces from my decorative painting days. They're not rusty because they're old and unloved...they came that way! lol Then I managed to find two hinges that I had removed from an old box, so I added those as well. They were perfect to make some fun flaps to hide some journaling spots and more pictures. I also decided that it's time to stop hoarding my Songbird paperpad! What a HAPPY collection! The only problem is that when I do a two-page layout...it just has to match! In this collection the only thing that worked for me was the exact same paper...oh well! Since looking for the metal put me even farther behind schedule than usual, I actually added pictures this time for extra points! Not that ANYONE is keeping score, right? :o)

My home, and my husband heading to the garden with a pail to pick strawberries and raspberries!

The hinge on the cloud hides a photo of part of our massive lilac hedge!

The hinge on the tree hides a photo of I bird I caught sitting on our birdhouse! What a cutie!

Scripture Challenge - Prayer

Prayer is one of my favorite things! I could fill my blog with my thoughts and feelings about prayer...but I won't! lol Prayer is our communication and fellowship with God through Christ! Prayer is joyful praise; prayer is worshipful; prayer is giving our gratitude; prayer is bringing our requests before God; and prayer is waiting in silence to hear a word from God. We ask God for forgiveness of our sins in prayer. Sometimes things happen in life that we feel powerless to do anything about. We are not powerless because we have prayer. There is great power in prayer...it changes things...it changes us as we pray! God hears our prayers and answers them according to His will and in His perfect time! Prayer is a wonderful gift from God! :o)

A special card for a "Sweet" friend! My first time using watercolor pencils on stamped images! Just another thing I've become hooked on...what great fun!!

Charms are just as addicting as the stickpins! lol It's so nice to be using up some of my stash of beads!

These were some Mini-Album binding charms for a friend!

This is totally not scrapbook related, but it is something that I made recently! This little one is "BLINGARINA BEAR"...a special gift I made for a special friend!

Sunshine for Robyn!

We have two different kinds of sunflowers in our garden!

Unfortunately, I scared away all the beautiful yellow finches! I did manage to capture a photo of this little guy though! There's another one in the bottom right side of the picture. It shows up really nicely in the enlargement! :o)

40 Day Challenge - Day 6 - Ribbon

It wasn't until I was half-way through this page that it dawned on me that I was doing flowers AGAIN!! lol Oh well! It's summer, and when I look out my windows all I see is gorgeous flowers everywhere!! How could I not be doing MORE flowers!! :o)

Scripture Challenge - Worship

I appreciate these Scripture verses very much! Those of you who know me would probably agree that they could be my "theme" verses! lol Some days I have a few issues with my songs sounding as joyful as I'd like them to sound, so I just listen to the songs of the birds in my backyard. Other days I just belt out my songs of worship regardless of how melodious I happen to be sounding! I know the Lord doesn't mind at all...it's just my heart He's listening to! :o)
