Hymn & Scripture Challenge #13 - O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing

Happy Tuesday, my friends!
I'm back with one of my missed Challenge pages. After this, I have only one more left to do for 2012! :o)

This is another very familiar and favorite hymn that I love to sing! The words are beautiful and the tune is so happy! I picked a Scripture verse that relates to one of the themes that runs through the song...and that is of praising God!

There's no happier song than one that sings praises to our Lord! Although I love them all, here are some of my favorite verses:

"O for a thousand tongues to sing my great redeemers praise,
The glories of my God and King, the triumphs of His grace!

Jesus! the name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows cease;
'Tis music in the sinner's ears, 'tis life, and health, and peace.

To God all glory, praise and love be ever, every given,
By saints below and saints above, the church in earth and heaven."

The verse I chose is found in Psalm 104:33:

"I will sing to the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live"

God is SO good! He is worthy of our praise! It's easy to remember that when things are going well for us, right? It's not always easy to think of praising God when we are suffering pain or down in the dumps. The funny thing is...when we concentrate on praising God the pain and doldrums dissipate! How wonderful is that? I hope the rest of your week us full of JOY and LAUGHTER and PRAISES to our God! :o)

This is truly amazing, Nancy. One of my all-time favorite embellishments on my art is the use of music. It just literally makes your card "sing". And with this particular song and your scripture, the card "sings" of the goodness of our precious Lord, Jesus Christ. Your art has blessed me - and others as well, I'm sure. THanks so much for sharing your talents and being such an encouragement. I appreciate your art and your participation in our challenges more than words can adequately express.
God bless you,
Karen
