Hymn and Scripture Challenge #13 - O God, Our Help in Ages Past

Hello, my dear friends!
I've been having a bit of trouble getting back into the swing of things since I got home. I still haven't made it around to visit some of you...but I hope to very soon.
I finally got to work finishing this Hymn and Scripture page that I started some time ago. The hymn this time is "O God, Our Help in Ages Past." I think it will be a familiar one to most of you! To create this page I pulled out some of my dies and punches, and just put them all together to make a scene of sorts. I was inspired by Verse one, where it says:
"O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal home!"
We always think of our homes as being our shelter, don't we? They provide safety and security to us. When a storm hits, we head inside to rest in our fortress, right? Trees also provide us with shelter; from sun, wind and rain. However, as we have learned from many of the natural disaster around the world...the security of our homes or trees is only temporary and fleeting. They will crumble and fall when facing hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, etc.
For my Scripture verse I chose Psalm 91:1-2. It says:
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I trust.'"
How incredible it is to be able to trust the everlasting shelter of the Almighty Himself!! He will NEVER crumble or fall! We can dwell and rest in His shadow FOREVER, and all we have to do is trust in Him! So, now I tell you that HE is MY refuge and my fortress, MY God in whom I trust! :o)

Here's a fun version of the song. It was originally titled "Our God, Our Help in Ages Past" and was later changed to "O God, Our Help in Ages Past."

Hi N,
You are so knowledgable on the history of the hymns you do. I like your remarks about what the hymn means to you. Your page totally brings your story to life. Love the village and trees surrounding the hymn. Beautifully done.
