Ephemera's Vintage Garden - Mabel's Diary - Project #1

Happy Friday, my friends!

It's time to start sharing some fun using a new Printable Journal Kit from Ephemera's Vintage Garden.
This kit is called Mabel's Diary, and it's wonderful!

I started working on one project using the kit but then was totally inspired to make this layout first.
It all began right after I finished fussy cutting these lovely images from the kit.
They print out in black and white with a pretty touch of cream in them.
In light of this, I printed my photos out using sepia tones.
The cream in the photos matches the digital images perfectly.
I used a cream cardstock for my base layer,
then I punched around the black to create this pretty shape.
I added two clock around the photos...a sort of capture of time
...then adhered all the images to the page.
Finally, I cut out a little cream envelope for my journaling.
The envelope opens right up and contains some private journaling.
Then I cut a little slit to tuck the flap into.

These photos are more of the gorgeous mountain shots I took at Elbow Falls the day after my Mom's funeral.
The layout really depicts the feelings I had on that day.

I remember these photos were taken just shortly after your Mother passed. I really like what you have done with them. Giving them a darker tone and a darker background. My heart goes out to you as you mourn the passing of your Mother and this layout speaks to that loss. Such a beautiful homage to your Mom.
Love - Leslie
