Jellypark Friends Challenge - Things With Wings

Happy Friday, my friends!

It's time for a fun new challenge over at Jellypark Friends!
Wait 'til you see the fabulous new images!
I had so much fun playing with this one called "Owl With Flowers"...can you tell?

I printed out several copies of this image on a couple of different colours of cardstock.
 I fussy cut  all the different layers and then coloured them.
After they were coloured I put them all back together again using dimensionals
Here you can see the dimension:

I stamped the background of the card with a woodgrain stamp, added a black oval,
and then centered the owl in it.
I added a few punched leaves and some feathers.
Finally, I added the sentiment that comes with the image!

Materials Used:
Papers: Recollections - Cardstock;
Image: Jellypark - Owl With Flowers
Prismacolor Pencils and OMS;
Stamp: Stampin' Up - Woodgrain;
Ink: Distress Ink - Walnut Stain;
Punches: Martha Stewart - Branch, Rose Leaf

Scripture Lessons and Lyrics #3 - Always

Happy Monday to you all, my friends!

I hope you've enjoyed a wonderful weekend and are excited to see what this week brings!

I've had this page finished for a while but forgot to post it. The song for Challenge #3 is another contemporary one entitled "Always". It's a song full of encouragement! We all have to face difficult struggles in our lives...with health, relationships, job situations...so many things! However, God will ALWAYS be there for us. He is a constant refuge and source of strength throughout the chaos of life! What a joyous comfort that is for each of us! :o)

I have used a new pocket format for today's page...this one has two pockets. As in all my pages for this challenge, I am using supplies from my Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The "Always" stamp was from a previous SSS kit. If you look closely at the background, you can see that I stamped flowers and leaves all over the gingham paper. I used a soft green ink so it wouldn't interfere with my writing. I wrote out the second verse and the chorus.
Please read the beautiful lyrics:

The second pocket holds the Scripture verse that I chose for this challenge. The background is one of the coordinating papers from the kit. I wrote the verse, die-cut it and layered it on another cut. Using the paper from the previous pocket, I stamped and punched some flowers. A bit of ribbon and some pearls and it was finished.
Oh, but then I saw that this great cut-apart was also in the kit. It was the perfect final addition, and I simply added it with my tiny attacher.
Always remember this..."The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble!"

This is how the completed pocket page looks:

Materials Used:
Stampin' Up - Language of Friendship;
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities - Labels Fourteen;
Punches: EK Success - Paper Shaper - Venetian Corner,
Stampin' Up - XL Boho Blossoms;
Inks: Distress Ink - Black Soot, Martha Stewart - Stem Green;
Pearls: Jolee's - All That Bling.

Ephemera's Vintage Garden - Enchanted Rose #3

Hello, my friends!
I'm back today to show you another project using the Enchanted Rose Kit
Seriously...this kit has been so much fun to play with!
I originally had a different project in mind but I was suddenly inspired to make a layout instead. Other than the 12 X 12 black cardstock and my photos, all the papers are from this fabulous digital kit.

 I created some flowers using one of the papers and some punches.
I fussy cut the butterflies and adhered them to the center of the big flowers.
Finally, I added some Stickles to all the flowers and butterflies.

Just did a little punching and die-cutting and then layered it all together.

I added the simple title "ROSES" and a few pearls.

With there being such lovely dimension on the bottom portion of the page,
I knew I needed to add some dimension to this portion on the top too.
I simply fussy cut one of the smaller butterflies out of one of the tags and layered it on top of the bigger one. Then I added the Stickles.

Materials Used:
Digital Papers: Ephemera's Vintage Garden - Enchanted Rose Kit;
Papers: Colorbok Textured Cardstock;
Dies: Die-Versions - Spring Has Sprung,
MM Slice Design Card - Music & Dance;
Punches: Martha Stewart - Branch, Rose Leaf, Doily Lace,
EK Success - Retro Flower, Stampin' Up - Punch Blossom;
Stickles: Cotton Candy, Diamond;
Pearls: Unknown.

Lia Stampz Challenge #59 - Add a Heart

Happy Monday morning, my friends!

There's a new challenge running over at Lia Stampz! It's an easy one too...all you have to do is "Add a Heart" to your project!

The card I made for this challenge was actually my Valentine to my sweetie. This is one of my very favorite Lia Stampz images. Isn't it fun? This is me squeezing the life out of my husband! lol He's so good to me!

Just a little side note for those of you who care...
My husband did buy the card I made...from me...to give to me. He paid me very well too. Then when I open the card...it's empty! There's no lovey dovey message from him! When I asked him about it he said that there's no way he's going to write in my beautiful card and mess it up! lol What a guy! ;o)

Back to this fun card. This image is called "Girl Hug" and you can find it at Whimsy Stamps right HERE. I just colored it up, added some fun layers, and a green twine bow. Finally, I punched out a few little pink hearts and added them.

Materials Used:
Papers: Recollections - Cardstoc,k;
Image: Lia Stampz - Girl Hug,
Prismacolor Pencils and OMS;
Punch: Martha Stewart - Hearts;
Twine: Hemptique - Green.

Please pop on over to Lia Stampz and join in the fun!
Happy week to you all! :o)

Scrapping Everyday Miracles - Guest DT Spot

Hello...and Happy Valentine's Day to you all!
I am very excited to be a Guest Designer for Scrapping Everyday Miracles!
I hope you like what I have to share!

My project was completely inspired by the wonderful SED theme this month
"Love is in the Air"
and the beautiful Scripture verse found in Colossians 3:14:
"And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity."
(NIV)

If we look back in the Bible verses previous to verse 14 it says:
"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved,
clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."

Wouldn't the person wearing THAT wardrobe be stylish?
We should each have those verses hanging in our closet,
so we can see them every morning when we get dressed.

Then our final accessory should always be love!

* * * * *

Here is my canvas:

I tried some fun new things on this canvas, starting with the mixture of gelatos and gesso that I used to paint the background.  I can completely understand why gelatos have become so popular...they are lots of fun!
 I was thinking of these garments we are to clothe ourselves with, and I thought a clothesline would be fun. I just happen to have bought  new clothesline die. Rather than using the mini clothespins that came with the die, I opted to use my miniature wooden ones to hang my "LOVE" clothing.
My clothesline is hanging from some trees. Since the background looked so much like Spring, I added some new leaf buds to the branches using some pretty green glitter glue.
Of course, every clothesline needs a bird sitting on it! :o)

I added some fun doodling around the edge of the canvas to frame it.
Then I added some more doodling on the letter hearts to help them stand out.
The Scripture says..."which binds them all together in perfect unity."
That made me think of hearts all connected to each other.

I punched out several different sizes of hearts and scored and layered them together.
 I added some little hearts randomly in the background, and covered them with pink stickles.
The final step was to write the first part of the verse on white cardstock, and adhere it front and center!

I would like to give a BIG thank you to Scrapping Everyday Miracles for having me as their Guest this month! :o)

Ephemera's Vintage Garden - Enchanted Rose #2

Happy Wednesday to all!

This week is really flying by, isn't it?
I have another project to share with you today.

My sweet friend Linda (aka papercrafter45) is responsible for this one!
She recently posted a video on youtube called "Easy Slit Pockets" and I had to make one!
I knew that the Enchanted Rose Kit from Ephemera's Vintage Garden was just perfect for it.
Now, if you're not familiar with Linda's youtube channel it's time you were!
I INSIST that you head over there and subscribe immediately.
(well...maybe after you've finished here)
You won't believe the brilliant things she comes up with! :o)

So here is my Easy Slit Pocket page.
The lovely paper and the pretty butterflies are from the kit.
I added some stickles to the butterflies, and then added a pretty ribbon.

Here is the page with the butterfly tags pulled out:

Here is what the page looks like without the tags:

I opted to make my page into a pocket folio.
I have filled one pocket with tags and journal cards from the Enchanted Rose Kit.
I have filled the opposite pocket with some of the gorgeous free printables from EVG.
If you haven't yet subscribed to the blog, please go HERE and do so.
Then you will also receive Debbie's generous gifts!

Materials Used:
Recollections Cardstock;
Diamond Stickles;

Scripture Lessons and Lyrics - Lesson #2 - UNDO

Hello again, my friends!

I've had this page finished for quite a while already.
Since my blog has been so busy with scheduled DT posts,
I thought I would wait until there was a lull!
Thank you all very much for your faithful visits and sweet comments!

I must say I am REALLY enjoying my new Scripture challenge format!
These pocket pages are so much fun to fill!
Again, I am using a past Simon Says Stamp kit for this page.
I thought the choice of red and white papers,
and the heart brads, were very appropriate for this month.
They were just right for the song lyrics and the Scripture verse
in a number of significant ways too!

The song that Patter chose this time is another contemporary Christian song.
It is "Undo" by Rush of Fools.
Although I had heard the song before, it's not one that I am very familiar with.

Here is my complete page.
Since it is on the back side of the last page, it's the same format...reversed.

Now I'll break it down for you.
This is my song title page.
I layered the letters on top of a doily on top of the decorative paper.
I then cut an "undo" icon out with my Cricut.
I added some simple stitching and some buttons, and this one was finished.

This pocket contains a quote from the song.
Just some simple layering and a few rhinestones.
This is my prayer so very often!
No matter how hard I try, I just can't get it all right.
 I certainly can't do it on my own...ever!
Yet every single time I ask, God freely takes me back to His forgiveness and grace!

That leaves the long skinny pocket for my Scripture verse.
I opted to write it out on white cardstock and cut it out in strips.
 I added a leftover bit of doily, and then did some more stitching.
Finally, I added a couple of heart brads.

I love this Scripture verse!
Yes, the Lord is my strength! My heart leaps for JOY!
I will give thanks to Him in song!
Don't worry...I'm not going to sing for all of you...I'll add the video at the end of the post! lol

Materials Used:
Simon Says Stamp Card Kit;
Slice Design Card - Noteworthy;
Cricut Cartridge - Small Talk Frames and Tags;
Cricut Cartridge - Elegant Edges.
