Winter with Cards and More

Hello, my friends!

I have a new project to share with you.
This is actually a new project to me too.
I've made my first art journal page.

This is my DT project for Cards and More.
You can see my blog post for the shop HERE
...with links to products used from the store.

Cards and More carries LOTS of products for this kind of fun!

I've had this book kicking around my studio for quite a while.
I finally just pulled it out and had a play.
I began with applying a thin coat of gesso over the entire page.
When that was dry, I sprayed with several frosty coloured mists.
Next was a layer of inking through a stencil,
followed by some stamping in blue and in white.

The sparkly die-cuts came in my DT package.
They are all cut from beautiful dies found at Cards and More.
I also added some snowflakes punched from white cardstock.

I found this quote, and simply wrote it across the page.
I could have done something much more creative with the wording,
but that should have been done before I glued things in the way! lol
Finally, I added a touch of doodling around the page to frame it.

From what I understand about Art Journaling
...you can't make any mistakes!
How can that not be fun? :o)

Here's an angle shot that shows off the shimmer and shine:

Materials Used:
Book from my Stash;
Inks: Distress Ink - Evergreen Bough, Chipped Sapphire,
White Chalk Ink;
Perfect Pearls Mists: Turquoise, Forever Blue, Perfect Pearl;
Stencil: Heidi Swapp;
Punch: Martha Stewart - Arctic Snowflake;
Stamp: Tim Holtz - Holiday Knits Stamp.

Ephemera's Vintage Garden - Mabel's Diary

Hello, my friends!

Today I am sharing my first Ephemera's Vintage Garden project for 2016.

We were all assigned the printable kit "Mabel's Diary" to create with.
You may remember that name.
I created three projects last year using this kit.
Well, Debbie has created some wonderful add-ons to the original kit,
and I used many of these on my first project.
I will include links to what I used after my photos.

This is an accordion journal that measures 4" X 6".
That measurement includes the tags popping up on the top.
The album itself is only 5 1/2" tall.

Just a couple of notes about the construction.
The base of the album is made from cardstock.
When it came to printing the pages out,
I fit two pages on one piece of 8 1/2 X 11 paper.
That is how I got this lovely small size.

There are lots of pages, which means lots of photos.
So let's get to it!

This is the front cover.
I attached a ribbon closure to wrap around and tie.

The pages are all so pretty that they don't need a thing.
I simply added the red pennant on the left top corner.
There is a side-loading pocket behind the right side page.
A file tab from the kit has been added to the pocket tag.

Here, I used one of the ledger pages on the right.
On the left, I made a belly band and added a label.
I added an upside-down pennant for a stopper.
This page holds several of the tags.
Also, each of these pages have a top loading pocket.
A tag from the kit has been adhered to cardstock.
Perfect for photos or journaling.

So pretty!

On the left, I added a sideways pennant.
Using a 1" circle punch I punched out the pretty flower and added it to the pennant.
Behind the right page is the second side-loading pocket.

This is the back cover.
Remember...it's an accordion album, so now we go back the other way.

Another pennant added on the left side.

On the right is another plain ledger page.
The left side has a labeled pocket to hold journaling tags.
There's also another pretty pennant.

More pretty pages!

On the top right corner you can see the fun paper clip I made.
I customized two epoxy embellishments using my new Epiphany Shape Studio punch, and the circle flowers from the kit.
I adhered two matching ones to either side of a big paperclip.

Here you can see the other side of the paperclip.
The left page has another label, and a pennant pocket for more tags.
The right page is another ledger page.

Here is one side of the entire accordion album.

Here is the other side.

Here's what it looks like from the top.

Here I've pulled out the two side pockets for a better look.
I like the way the tabs extend from the pockets.

So that's my little accordion album!
I hope you like it.
Please let me know if you have any questions about it's construction or design! :o)

Hello, my sweet friends!

Thank you so much for your kind congratulations on all my recent DT announcements!
With my busy schedule I will have much to share in the coming months.
I really appreciate your encouragement! :o)
(BTW...I will have one more final announcement soon!)

Today I have an extra project to share.
This card was made for a special woman who was celebrating her 80th birthday.
She is a very talented quilter, so when I saw this die at Your Next Stamp...
well...I just had to get it! :o)
I cut it twice, and then had the best time putting it all together.
To finish it off, I added the tiny buttons and the scissors.

Here's what I did on the inside:

Materials Used:
Papers: MME - Quilting Bee, Recollections: Cardstock;
Die: Your Next Stamp - Fun With Squares,
Spellbinders Shapeabilities - Sewing Elements;
Stamp: Papertrey Ink;
Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black;
Brad and Buttons: My Stash.

I have amassed quite a collection of great dies and stamps from Your Next Stamp.
So you'll be seeing much more of their great products in upcoming projects.
In the meantime, head over to their shop and take a look
There's even a great sale going on now!

Have a great day! :o)

Miss Daisy Stamps - Thinking of You

Happy Monday, my friends!

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend!

I'm back today to share a card using a beautiful image from Miss Daisy Stamps.
This image is called "Angel Petals" and you can find it HERE.
I paired it with a the "Thinking of You" sentiment that you can find HERE.

I had coloured my image first, and then went through my paper stash.
This Prima Sparkling Spring collection matched beautifully.
When I saw the little bird on the one paper, I knew I wanted to include it.
It was very subtle, so I added a coat of Glossy Accents to help it stand out.

Materials Used:
Papers: Prima - Sparkling Spring, Recollections - Cardstock;
Image: Miss Daisy Stamps - Angel Petals,
Spectrum Noir Markers;
Sentiment: Miss Daisy Stamps - Thinking of You;
Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities - Marvelous Squares;
Punches: Stampin' Up - Oval, Scalloped Oval;
Stickles: Diamond;
Pearls: My Stash.
