Fun with FabScraps - Charms of Spring Layout

Hello and happy Friday, my friends!

I have a fun new FabScaps layout to share with you today!

I used the gorgeous Charms of Spring Collection to showcase these Winter photos.
Every year, our yard is filled with hundreds and hundreds of these beautiful Cedar Waxwings.
It's an incredible thing to see...and hear!
This FabScraps collection was perfect to showcase the photos.

I have lots of photos to share, followed by the tutorial.

Charms of Spring Collection
It’s Raining Birds Layout

For this project you will need:

·         FabScraps Charms of Spring Collection Paper Range C97 001
·         FabScraps Chipboard Pieces DC97 006, 007
·         FabScraps Bird in Tree Stencil DS 073
·         FabScraps Charms of Spring Card Kit MC97 001A
1 – 6” X 6” paper, 1 – tag, 2 – bird die-cuts
·         Coordinating Pink Cardstock
·         Pink Ink (Smooch Accent Ink – Taffy)
·         Flower Die of Choice (Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourishes Die)
·         Chipboard Letters - 1” tall
·         Pink Glitter

Instructions:

1.    Gather Chipboard pieces: DC97 006, 007, and chipboard title letters. Using ink of choice, ink all pieces. I used a makeup sponge to apply Smooch Accent Ink. It has a beautiful shimmer to it. Set aside to dry. Note: I used this same sponge and ink for all further inking in this project.
2.    Cut C97 001 down to 11” square. Distress edges of paper with both distressing tool and ink. Adhere to center of 12” pink cardstock.
3.    Using DS 073 Stencil, and same makeup sponge, stencil image as shown in photo. The bird and leaves are over on the right, then leaves in each of the corners.
4.    Cut a piece of pink cardstock 6” wide X 7” tall. Distress edges with tool and ink. Adhere to center of page, approximately 2 ½ “ from bottom edge. Postion photos on this cardstock.
5.    Die-cut flowers from white side of 6” X 6” paper from MC97 001A. Ink edges and center. Add glue to the center and sprinkle with glitter. Set aside to dry.
6.    Using white side of tag from MC97 001A, add journaling. Adhere in place, as shown in photo.
7.    Using white side of two bird die-cuts from MC97 001A, ink with pink ink.
8.    Finally, once everything is dry, assemble as shown in the photo. The chipboard title is adhered across the top of the page. The DC97 006 chipboard is centered on the left side, and the DC97 007 chipboard is centered on the bottom. The flowers are positioned in place over the stenciled leaves. The die-cut birds are positioned over the photos. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll be back again soon!

What a wonderful page, great borders to record this wonderful image of all those birds. We don't have waxwings (I don't think) so will go and see a close up on the web. How lucky you are to have them visit.
Faith.

Beautiful layout Nancy ... so much fabulous detail! We don't get the wax wings but we get the grackles that come in 'droves' like this ... and it's fascinating to watch how they all fly in harmony. Thanks for sharing wonderful crafting inspiration and beautiful photos. Have a great day!
