Whisker Graphics - Stitching Fun!

Hello, my friends!

I'm back to share a fun project created with products from the Whisker Graphics Shop!
I'm also over on the Whisker Graphics Blog today.
You're going to want to go over there and subscribe in the sidebar, if you haven't already done so.
That way you won't miss what the rest of the DT shares,
and all the fun ways you can use these great products!

Here's what we're making today...

Here's what you need to make it:

From Whisker Graphics:
Solid Pink Bamboo, Solid Aqua Bamboo, Solid Green Bamboo

Other Materials Needed:
Paper Piercing Tool and Mat
Stitch/Piercing Design Templates

Insert the piercing mat into the Middy Bitty Bag.
Choose your design template and position it over the bag.
Pierce the design into the bag, through the top layer only.

Cut a workable length of the twine, and thread it on a needle.
Using a piece of tape,
secure the end of the twine securely in place on the inside of the bag.
Do this in a location close to where you will begin your first stitch.
Poke the needle through to the front of the bag through one of the pierced holes.
Continue stitching the design from the front of the bag.
Do so carefully so that you don't tear the bag.
To finish off, secure the end with another piece of tape.
Trim the twine close to the tape.

I then decided to stitch "HELLO" on a Large White Tag from the shop.
I had a plan for it!
When the stitching was finished,
I threaded some additional twine through the hole in the tag.

Here you can see where I adhered the tag to the front of one bag,
and then stitched a little bird sitting on it.
To finish these off, I cut a coordinating piece of cardstock to fit inside the bag.
These are just a fun alternative to the usual greeting card!

Clear Scraps - He Lives Bible Journal Page

Hello, my friends!

I'm back with a new project share for Clear Scraps!

This week I'm sharing a Bible Journal page with you.
I've used the He Lives Border Stencil for this page.
I thought it was soon enough after Easter for this one.
Then again, many of us celebrate Easter every day of the year!
The stencil measures 3 X 12, and is perfect for the end of a chapter like this.
These two pages in Mark are all bout the death and resurrection of Jesus.
I will come back to the other page later, to add more inking and my personal journaling.

I began by creating a mask for the sun, using the stencil, and placing it on the page.
Then I lightly inked the entire page using blue ink.
I removed the mask, positioned the stencil, and inked the sun.
Then I just continued with the rest of the stenciling.

Once the ink was all dry,
I added a little bit of doodling with my micron pen.
So here's the finished page:

Clear Scraps has lots of great stencils that are perfect for Bible Journaling!
Head on over to the shop and take a look!

Simply Crafty SVGs - Vintage Vanity Case

Hello and Happy Monday, my friends!

I'm back with a new project share for Simply Crafty SVGs!

This month I'm sharing the wonderful Vintage Vanity Case,
which you can find HERE.

Isn't this a cute little case?
I was a little bit scared to make it when I first saw it.
No need to be though because it came together really easy!
The file comes with a detailed PDF instruction sheet.

I opted to use this fun patterned paper.
I wasn't concerned about ensuring the pattern matched
but the front just happened to match perfectly!
Here's the side view:

Here's the back view that shows the hinges:

The handles and all the bits that come with the file are great!
I decided to use pearls to fill the brad holes
because I wanted to continue with the black/white theme.

Here's a look at the inside of the box.
It's so clean!

As with all these great files...the creative possibilities are endless!
You can use the paper hinges, handle and closures like I did,
or you can replace them with actual metal bits.
You can use pearls like I did, or you can use brads, rhinestones, or enamel dots.
The papers and color will also change the style of the box.
So much fun!
Here's one last look at the front of the finished box:

Other Materials Used:
Papers: Colorbok - Cardstock, DCWV - La Creme Stack;
Bling: Crafts - Pearls,
Machine: Cricut Explore Air;
Adhesive: Aleene's Tacky Glue.

Happy Mother's Day with Swedish House Crafts

Hello, my friends!

I have a new project today for Swedish House Crafts!

I know that some of you have already celebrated Mother's Day this year.
However, some will still be celebrating the event in May.
I have created a Mother's Day card with this in mind.

This pretty card came together very easily with the use of some beautiful Pion Design papers,
and Gummiapan dies, all from Swedish House Crafts.

I created the card base from pale pink cardstock.
Then I used the Gummiapan Old Papers Die to cut some papers from the
Pion Design Easter Greetings Collection and layer them on the front of the card.
The lovely image is from a sheet of beautiful images called Family Moments

I also decorated the inside of the card.

To finish the card off...I fussy cut the butterflies from the paper collection,
and I added a pretty multi-looped bow.
Finally, I added Diamond Stickles to everything,
including the flowers on the image.

Clear Scraps - Write Your Own Story Journal

Hello, my friends!

I'm back with a new project share for Clear Scraps!

This week I have created a fun journal using two pages from the Chipboard 6 X 6 Regular Album.
this album comes with five pages, so I have three pages left over for an other project.

Here's the journal:

I began by dusting the naked chipboard with my embossing powder tool.
I was going to be doing some heat embossing,
and didn't want the embossing powder sticking where it wasn't supposed to.
Next I positioned the 6" Write Your Story Stencil in place on the front cover.
Then I took a nice juicy Versamark ink pad, and inked through the stencil.
I made sure that the entire image had been well inked before removing the stencil.
Then I heat embossed the image using white embossing powder.

Next I colored the background, using a combination of three Distress Oxide Inks.
I misted it with water, allowing a few water drops to fall.
Then I used a baby wipe to wipe the color off of the embossing.
I repeated the inking process for the back cover.

This is a journal, created to write in, so the pages had to serve that purpose.
I pulled out my 12" Prima Ledger Paper Pads and chose a few pages.
I cut them down to 6" square, rounded the corners,
punched holes in them, and inserted them between my covers.

Here's one last look at my finished album:

It's very appropriate for us here,
as we are still bundling up to go out for a walk! ;o)

I just did some simple framing.

My Scrap Chick - Scallop and Lattice Card

Hello, my friends!

Welcome to a new DT post for My Scrap Chick

Before I share my new project, I want to share this:

Yes! We're having a Facebook Hop!
I've never had one before, and I'm very excited!
I know many of you are already liking my page in preparation.
It's going to be lots of fun, so please mark April 20-21 on your calendar! :o)

* * * * *

Today I am sharing a really pretty card cut!
It's called Scallop and Lattice Card with Layered Frames.
It cut so smooth and easy...I'm already planning my next one!

Here's the beautiful card it creates:

It measures 5 inches square.

The center is made up of two frames that layer one on top of the other.
These are layered over the center square in the lattice.
I stamped a small flower in the center, using matching ink.

Finally, I added just a touch of bling.

Other Materials Used:
Paper: Recollections - Cardstock;
Machine: Cricut Explore Air;
Ink: Distress Ink -
Stamp: Marion Smith - Flower;
Bling: Crafts - Sparkles.
