ABC Scripture Challenge - Lonely

Do you ever feel like the whole world, and everyone in it, has abandoned you? Now that's a BAD day, isn't it? That horrible dark loneliness can be overwhelming, can't it? Sometimes people just have to leave us because of sickness, death, or new jobs in new locations. Other times people don't really leave us...they just leave our nest and they move on to the next stage of their lives. We can certainly feel lonely during the initial period of adjustment. Then again, at other times, it's not other people abandoning us at all. It's simply our perception because of our bad attitude and our grouchies! (that's another name for those crazy hormones! lol)  So it becomes a self-imposed loneliness. Regardless of whether it's temporary or permanent, self-imposed or out of our control; none of us wants to be lonely. It is depressing and it steals our JOY! So guess what? We don't have to be lonely! In Hebrews 13:5 God promises that He will never leave us or abandon us! (forsake means abandon) Well, that certainly works for me! :o)

THERE'S A PEACE IN MY HEART
(Anne S. Murphy 1908)
There's a peace in my heart that the world never gave,
A peace it can not take away;
Tho' the trials of life may surround like a cloud,
I've a peace that has come there to stay!
Refrain:
Constantly abiding, Jesus is mine;
Constantly abiding rapture divine;
He never leaves me lonely,
whispers, O so kind:
"I will never leave thee," Jesus is mine.

All the world seemed to sing of  Saviour and King,
When peace sweetly came to my heart;
Troubles all fled away and my night turned to day,
Blessed Jesus, how glorious Thou art!
Refrain
This treasure I have in a temple of clay,
While here in His footstool I roam;
But He's coming to take me some glorious day,
Over there to my heavenly home!
Refrain

Your page is so pretty. That certainly is a nice Martha Stewart punch you have used.
Thankyou for the words of wisdom you have shared and the words of the song.
We certainly have no need to feel lonely.

This is such a lovely page! I agree that the Martha Stewart punch is fantastic ! And the bow is wonderful so neat! Thanks for the words to the hymn it isn't one I am familiar with but is worth knowing! I am a little behind with my pages and I think my computer will have to go in for a little {hopefully} repair so I hope I can post something at the end of the week!

Lonely is definitely a very difficult idea to scrap. The most lonely I've every felt was in the void of Daniel Libeskind's Jewish Museum in Berlin.
