Lock and Key Slimline Album for Clear Scraps.

   Hello, my friends!

Today I'm sharing a fun album that I created for Clear Scraps!
It's a Slimline Chipboard Album that measures 5 1/2" x 11".

These are the Clear Scraps products that I used:

Here's how I did it:

I began by covering the front and back of the album pages with designer paper.
I punched the binding holes and inked all the edges.

Then I used distress ink, and stenciled several pages with the keys and locks.

I chose one key and one lock, and heat embossed them with an antique gold embossing powder.
While it was still warm, I sprinkled on a little bit of black embossing powder,
and heat set again.
This gives a nice vintage look that worked very well with my album cover.

I adhered the key and lock in place on my front cover.

All that was left was to embellish my album pages.

I added a variety of tucks and journaling spots.

I really like seeing the way the "wave" from the previous page.

There is lots of room for photos and documentation.

These slimline albums are so fun to decorate and put together.
You can find more Slimline Album options in the shop HERE.

CREATE Mini Album for Clear Scraps

   Hello, my friends!

I'm back with a fun new project for Clear Scraps!

This time I have created a mini album, using a really great combination of products!

Here's my album:

I love to combine chipboard and acrylic pages when making a mini album.
Since the acrylic pages are see-through, more thought has to go into the construction.
For this album I decided to stencil a design on each acrylic page.
It's easy to do...and so much fun!

I used four chipboard pages, and four acrylic pages.
I began by choosing papers from my stash, and covering the chipboard.
The chipboard has holes for binding rings,
so it's important to remember to punch them out before covering them on both sides.
Once my chipboard was covered, I set it aside.

I chose some acrylic paints that match the papers, and grabbed some makeup sponges.
The sponges work beautifully for stenciling with paint.
I decided which side of the acrylic I was going to stencil on,
and removed the protective film from that side only.
I chose to stencil the front cover on the back side of the acrylic.
This will offer some protection to the paint, since this is the cover.
It's very easy to flip the stencil over, and add the paint backwards.
I loaded some paint on my sponge, and used a dabbing motion through the stencil.
As you can see by the smaller white doilies, I had a bit too much paint on my sponge.
I don't mind the look for this project but it's best to start with less.
You can always add more if you need it.

The paint dried quite quickly but I let it sit for an extra day.
When I was ready to assemble my pages, I removed the other layer of protective plastic.

Then it was just a matter of putting my pages in order,
and adding a bit of embellishing.

I placed a solid colored mat behind the title page.

Then I added some pearls and a little bow.
All the page edges have been inked with distress ink.

I added some stickers and bits that all fit into my "CREATE" theme.

The white doily shows up beautifully on the background page.

It looks lovely on the busier page too.

I used touches of ribbons on some pages.
They match the ribbons used on the binding rings.

I really love the way these paint splats look on both the solid green page,

...and the pretty striped page.

The flowers look great on the back cover.

You can see throughout the album,
thought was given as to the placement of stickers.
They aren't fighting with the stencil designs.

This was such a fun album to put together!
If you haven't tried using acrylic pages before,
I really hope you do!

My Vintage Album for Mini Album Mania's Final Challenge

   Hello, my friends!

It's time for a new Challenge at Mini Album Mania Challenge!

Unfortunately, this will be the final challenge.
There just hasn't been enough participation for the challenge to continue.
I want to give Leslie a big thank you for giving it a shot!
It's been lots of fun to be involved.

Here's my mini album for this month:

I found this fun 6" chipboard album in my stash.
The cover is so simple and plain.
I stamped "vintage" and inserted it into a book plate that I placed on the front cover.
I did a little bit of inking on the edges...and it's done.

The background pages are all edge distressed.

All the embellishments and inserts have been inked.

I used a really fun combination of products
that work beautifully together.

There's lots of room for adding photos,
and documenting all the great memories.

The photos and words included also offer some good journaling prompts.

The background pages are perfect for a vintage album.

The vintage photos are such a fun addition.

The back cover was just plain chipboard, so I didn't include a photo.

Thanks for looking!

Mini Album Mania May Challenge

   Hello, my friends!

It's time for a new Challenge at Mini Album Mania Challenge!

This challenge will begin today, May 1st, and continue until June 15th!
So you have lots of time to participate!

Here's my mini album for this month:

This fun Spring mini measures 5" square.
It consists of eight chipboard pages.
The cover has been decorated with one of the journaling cards,
along with some pretty flowers with pearl centers.
I added alphabet stickers to spell "SPRING".

Here I formed a pocket out of another journal card.
A coordinating tag is tucked into the pocket.
A pretty flower decorates the other page.

Here I added the journal card on the right,
creating a side-load pocket.
I tucked in a tag, and added another flower.

On the left side, I added a belly band.
On the right side, I added more flowers.

Another simple spread with a top-loading pocket on the right.

Here's another side loading pocket,
with a flower added to the right side.

Here's a belly band on the right with a pretty flower.
There's another journal card tucked into the belly band.

A flower on the left side,
and a top loading pocket on the right.

Finally, here's the back cover:

This is such lovely paper for creating a "SPRING" mini album!
So many pretty flowers, birds, and bees!
