Memorydex Scripture Cards for White Rose Crafts

 Hello, my friends!

I have a fun new project share for White Rose Crafts LLC

As most of you know, I love to make projects that document my favorite Scripture verses.
I've done this in many formats, and for many years.
This year I am writing my verses on Memorydex cards.
I'm excited to watch my pretty pink Memorydex fill up.

I was very excited to find the Heidi Swapp Memorydex File Cards
and Tabbed Dividers
in the shop.
This set is called Recipe, and it includes 12 dividers,
along with 88 cards.
This will keep me going for a while! :o)

I used the lovely 13@rts Pastel Spring Collection to decorate my cards.

Here's my first card:

Isn't that little girl on the swing sweet?
I fussy cut all those bits out of the element page.

I also like that the cards are bordered and have lines on them.
It makes it easy to write out my Scripture verse.
Here I added a strip of pretty paper along the bottom,
and some more fussy cut elements.

Here's my second card:

On the one side I added some more pretty paper,
and more fussy cut elements.
I thought this sweet little girl was perfect for this Scripture verse.
Doesn't she look like she's praying?

The other side has my verse, more paper, and a fussy cut flower.

Here's how they look on my pretty pink Memorydex!

If you like making Memorydex cards as much as I do,
head over to the shop and grab some for yourself.

I look forward to sharing more Memorydex Scripture Cards with you this year!

My Scrap Chick - My Blessings Box - For Annabel

 Hello, my friends!

Today I have a fun new project share for My Scrap Chick!

This is a follow-up post to the last one I shared.
If you missed it, you can check it out HERE.
I haven't done anything to my little picket fence box yet
but I've decided to call it "My Blessings Box."

Today I'm featuring the following files:

Words Assortment of 55

Label Assortment

Here is what I did:

I cut all of the words out of both black and white cardstock.

Then I cut a MULTITUDE of labels.
This file includes so many great shapes.
I sized them all to fit my 4 x 4 cards.
Since some of my labels are quite dark,
I then cut some white labels, slightly smaller.
It will be so handy to have these all cut out and ready to create with.

So with all these fun goodies, I got to work on my first Scripture card.

This one was actually a special request from my sweet friend, Annabel.
She requested this Scripture verse, as well as the color yellow.
(We have this "thing" going with yellow!)
This is the version Annabel shared,
which is from The Passion Translation.
Isn't this verse lovely in this translation?
It fits in beautifully with my recurring theme of JOY too!

I used the "dear friend" and the label on the front.
Then I decided to decorate the back too.
Here's what I did there:

My Scrap Chick Files Used:

Other Materials Used:
Momenta Cardstock;
Momento Ink - Rose Bud;
Stampin' Up Stamp Set - The Nicest Thing;
Unknown Mini Chipboard Heart.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Big thanks to Annabel for requesting this Scripture verse!
You're a dear friend, Annabel,
and you bring me much JOY!

If any of you would like to request a card made,
using your favorite Scripture verse,
just leave a comment for me!

My Scrap Chick - Fun New Project!

Hello, my friends!

Today I have a fun new project share for My Scrap Chick!

Today I'm featuring the:

Recipe Card Dividers.

Here's what my finished dividers look like:

Don't those look fun?
I've been really busy cleaning/sorting/purging.
In the process, I came across this wood picket fence box.
Right away I thought of a use for it, and found a place for it, and got to work!

The first thing I needed to find was some tabbed dividers.
Of course I went straight to My Scrap Chick and found just what I needed.
I measured my box first, and then resized the file to fit just right.

The file has three tab options: left, center, and right.
I decided I wanted them to be black,
so I grabbed some black cardstock, and got busy.
I cut multiples of each

I then measured the dividers, and cut papers to fit them,
leaving a black border.
I used a great Bible Journaling paper pad from Recollections.
Does that give you a hint of what I'm putting together?

Yes! It's going to be my new Scripture Card Box.
I'm going to come up with a good name for it,
and I think I'll probably do some decorating of the box itself.
I'll be filling this box with fun creative cards,
that will include my favorite Scripture Verses.

I'm really excited about this new project!
I originally started my blog just to participate in an online Scrpture Challenge.
I did that for years...until it ended.
Then I got busy, and would only share a faith project now and then.
I'm excited to be getting back to something I love so much!

Of course I'll be using some great files from My Scrap Chick,
and lots of other goodies, to create my Scripture Cards.
I hope you'll continue to come by and check them out!
Maybe you want to find a box of your own and join me! :o)

Mustard Seed Faith Challenge

Sunday Blessings to you, my friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at Mustard Seed Faith Challenge Blog

It's my turn to share a few thoughts with you.
I’m going to begin by asking you a question:

What does JOY mean to you?

Think about that for a minute while I share today’s Scripture verse:

“Consider it pure JOY, my brothers and sisters,
whenever you face trials of many kinds…”
James 1:2 NIV

Now let’s go back to the question.
If we think of it in the context of that verse, our meaning of JOY is wrong.
We usually think of JOY as being feelings of happiness, right?
We don’t feel happy when we’re facing trials, do we?
No!
Well…JOY does mean feelings of happiness and great pleasure
but did you know that JOY is also a verb?
A verb is an action word, right?
It’s something that we DO.
So…how do we DO JOY?
We CHOOSE it! We GO AFTER it! We BE it!
HOW do we do that?
When we’re in the midst of pain and stress and misery…how do we do that?
We focus on our HOPE and FAITH, and the inner JOY we all have,
…a gift given to us from the Lord.
True lasting JOY, and the peace that comes with it, comes from the Lord!

Those of you that have been visiting my blog for some time
know that JOY is a recurring theme with me here.

As someone who has lived with almost constant pain for many years,
I can tell you that the decision to "CHOOSE JOY"
has made a huge difference in my own life.
As it says in Nehemiah 8:10:

The JOY of the Lord is my strength!

Don't get me wrong...it's not always an easy thing.
In fact...some days it seems downright impossible! lol
However, that's when I hand it all over to God...and the JOY comes!  :o)

*****
That brings me to the Challenge today!
Pull out some goodies from your stash that bring you JOY!
Then JOYFULLY create a project to share with us here!

I look forward to seeing what you make! :o)

I made a fun 6 X 6 canvas to hang as a reminder to myself.
It's all in pretty pink!
(Sorry, Annabel, no mustard this time!)
I cut the paper to fit, and then stenciled the design.
I distressed the edges and adhered it to the canvas front.
Then I inked around the front edge.
I cut the letters out with my Cricut, inked them, and adhered them in place.
I added sequins for some sparkle.

I inked some wide white lace with the matching pink ink,
and wrapped it around the edge of the canvas.
I created a triple bow from the glittery ribbon and added it to the top.

Finally, I added some Stickles to the letters.

Materials Used:
Papers: Crate Paper - Ransom;
Ink: Martha Stewart - Pink Geranium,
Distress Ink - Walnut Stain;
Stencil: TCW - Mini Curl Frame;
Cricut Cartridge: Plantin SchoolBook;
Stickles: Cotton Candy;
Ribbon: Celebrate It;
Lace: My Stash;
Sequins: Dollarama.

Mustard Seed Faith Challenge - Who Holds Your Tomorrow?

Sunday Blessings to you, my friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at Mustard Seed Faith Challenge Blog

Tracey is taking a turn with the challenge this week.
She has a fabulous devotional over on the blog.
I do hope you all go and take a look at it!
The answer to the question of "who holds our tomorrow?"
is a very important one!

The subject of worrying is always relevant, isn't it?
It seems there are so many things in life today that can lead us to the wasteful act of worrying:
...health issues, job issues, relationship issues...
the list can go on and on!
What can worrying do for us?
NOTHING! It just leads to feelings of fear.
What have we to fear when God, our Creator, is watching over us?
If He holds our tomorrow we have nothing to fear.
This lovely Scripture verse from Matthew 10:30 came to mind
as I was putting my card together. It says:

"So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."

This leads me onto my project for today.
The challenge is to add a bird or butterfly to your project.
I was so happy to make this card.
It's the first crafting I've done in two weeks!
I used a fabulous new cut file that I recently picked up from The Scrap Chick.
It was just right for the challenge, and so fun to put together.

The flower is my own addition.

Materials Used:
Papers: GCD Studios - Nostalgia;
Ink: Distress Ink - Walnut Stain;
Punches: Stampin Up - Scalloped Circle, EK Success - 1 1/4" Circle Punch;
Cut File: My Scrap Chick - Bird Takes Flight Card;
Tool: Cricut Explore Air.

Mustard Seed Faith Challenge - God's Lullabies To Us

Sunday Blessings to you, my friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at Mustard Seed Faith Challenge Blog

The theme this week is "The Psalms as God's Lullabies To Us".
Peggysue has a short devotional on the subject over on the blog.

I really love that as a description of the Psalms!
Are you familiar with the Psalms?
I think Psalm 23 is probably the most well known
but I love them all.
Several years ago I had to have a major surgery and I was really scared.
I pulled out my Bible and started reading the Psalms.
It really was a lullaby for me...and calmed all my fears.
I was able to face my surgery with peace.

If you're ever scared, or worried, or feeling alone...
...or if you're just feeling overwhelmed with life and the world today...
...just dig into the Psalms!
Feel God speaking the Lullaby to you!

For the challenge this week:

Create a Baby Card / Something With a Psalm as a Lullaby

I used some lovely items from Gecko Galz to create my card.

The image has a little mustard colored bird on it,
just for my friend Annabel! :o)

Materials Used:
Image: Gecko Galz - Baby Mine Digital Collage Set;
Bling: Crafts - Mini Rhinestones;
Seam Binding: My Sewing Stash;
Doily: My Stash.

Mustard Seed Faith Challenge - Overwhelmed

Sunday Blessings to you, my friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at Mustard Seed Faith Challenge Blog

This week we want you to be inspired by "God as Creator"
or
this fabulous sketch:

or

the song Overwhelmed by Big Daddy Weave.
Over on the blog, Peggysue shares why she chose this song.
Please take the time to listen to this fabulous video:

Isn't that beautiful?
The line that jumped out at me was "I delight myself in You".
I love that!
I happen to have a stamp that says "DELIGHTFUL", so I added that to my card.
Also, ONE of my favorite things of all God's creation is flowers.
So I added some flowers to my card.
Oh, and I used the fun sketch.
I didn't have an oval die, so I substituted it with the pennant.

Materials Used:
Papers: WRMK - Tiffany's Designer Paper Pad, Recollections - Cardstock;
Stamp: Simon Says Stamp - Absolutely Delightful;
Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black;
Die: Sizzix XL Die - Banner, Layered;
Punch: WRMK - 1/4" Corner Chomper;
Bling: Crafts - Pearls, atyou Spica Marker - Clear;
Flowers: Prima.

Mustard Seed Faith Challenge - Traveling Mercies

Sunday Blessings to you, my friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at Mustard Seed Faith Challenge Blog
We had so many beautiful entries in our Easter Challenge!
Thank you all for sharing your talents with us! :o)

* * * * *
The New Challenge:

Have you heard the term "Traveling Mercies"?
It's a common phrase among us folk of faith! ;o)
Traveling mercies are prayers for safety and protection for those that are traveling.
Peggysue has a great devotional on the subject.
Head on over to the challenge blog and read her share,
then make a project and link it up.
Include something to do with travel: car, boat, truck, balloon,
or like me...a globe.

* * * * *
My share:

I am the mother of two very adventurous daughters.
My goodness but they amaze me with the things the do!
At times they also terrify me! lol
Like when one travels to India...alone!
Or when one travels alone to the States
 and meets up with someone that they've only ever met online...
...someone that I've never met! ;o)
As I began making my card, and thinking about this subject,
I was reminded of the time that they drove six hours from home to go skydiving!
Yes, to willingly jump out of a plane! *shudder*
What's a Mother to do with such daughters?
Well...my natural inclination is to worry about them.
That makes sense, right?
I tend to think about all the things that can go wrong,
and all the possible dangers they face.
Does my worrying make ANY difference to the outcome?
NO...NONE!
It just makes me a nervous wreck! lol
Matthew 6:27 says:
"Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"
So...I choose not to waste my time and energy worrying.
Instead, I do as instructed in 1 Thessalonians 5:17:
"Pray continually."
Then in my prayer, I give my daughters, and their protection, up to the Lord.
He's got them in the palm of His hand, and will take care of them much better than I can.
See...traveling mercies! :o)

* * * * *
About my card:

I'm a huge fan of Vera Lane Studio images!
They make me smile...and some even make me laugh out loud!
(You know how much I like to laugh!)

So in preparation of this card, I headed over to the Vera Lane Facebook Group and asked for image ideas.
Dolores was the first to suggest this digital set called Change the World, and it was perfect for my purposes.
Isn't she adorable?...looks just like my daughters! lol

Using my Cricut Explore Air, I printed then cut the images, and then had fun coloring them.
I prepared the card base, and then added the images with foam tape.
I cut a little geotag out of the papers and added it to the globe over Canada.
Finally, I cut a few arrows out of the background paper and added them.

The sentiment in this set is perfect!
From now on, when one of my daughters heads out on another hair-raising adventure,
I will put this card where I can see it and be reminded.
God...YOU'VE GOT THIS! :o)

Materials Used:
Papers: Recollections - Cardstock, Imaginisce - Perfect Vacation;
Image: Vera Lane Studios - Change the World;
Color: Spectrum Noir Markers.
