August Fun Foiled Cards for Crafty Critta

  Hello, my friends!

It's time for another foiled project using Crafty Critta products!
I have three more cards to share with you today!
The products used are linked beneath each card.
I also used the YOUR BEST MATE MACHINE for all the foiling.

I peeled the foiling away a little too soon on this one...before it had cooled.
You can see it in this bottom right corner.
I don't mind the effect at all. It gives it a bit of a grungy look.

I love this beautiful pink foil!
Here I punched a circle out of the card front. I also punched out the foiled sentiment.
I adhered the sentiment into the larger circle with foam tape.

This newer matte silver foil is STUNNING!
I think it's my new favorite!
It's so simple to make an elegant card with this one.

Foiling is so much fun!

Thanks for stopping by today!
I'll have another fun foiled project very soon!

Coffee Themed Postcard for Clear Scraps

   Hello, my friends!

I'm back with another project for Clear Scraps!
Today it's a quick and easy one!

I've used:

Coffee Mug Chipboard Embellishment

There are so many ways to make a fun coffee themed project!
The chipboard cup can be inked, embossed, painted, etc.
I chose to cover mine with coffee themed paper from my stash.

Here is what it looked like before I started.
The package included a coffee sleeve with a heart cut out.

However, I took inspiration from my paper, and added a kraft cardstock sleeve.
I ran the strip through my crimper before adhering it in place.

I added a strip of black cardstock across the top.
Then I brushed on some white chalk lines to give the lid some dimension.

I could have made a card but opted instead to make more of a postcard
...with just a front and back.
I added a simple pocket to the back to hold a coffee gift card
(Mine is for Tim Hortons).
I also added a coffee sentiment to the pocket.

This would be a great card to include in a coffee themed gift basket,
to send to a friend who is under the weather - or just a coffee lover!

Other Materials Used:
Paper and Sentiment - Printables from Kate Crafts Store;
Recollections Black Cardstock;
Walnut Stain Distress Ink;
Crimper;
1" Circle Punch.

I'll be back soon with another fun project share!

April Project for Lavender Blu Journals

 Hello, my friends!

Today I am sharing my April project for Lavender Blu Journals!

This month I have created two fun tags and a card!

Lavender Blu Products Used:

Vintage Victorian Ephemera Kit;

Vintage Victorian Journal Kit.

This is a gorgeous collection...with endless creative possibilities!

Here are my tags.:

Everything was printed and then fussy cut.
The edges were distressed with a tool or ink or both.

Then I did some simple and flat layering.
I think I'll be using these tags in a future journal.

Then I made this pretty card, using the same process.

Although here I did adhere the center heart using foam tape.

Here's the inside of the card, decorated with other elements from the collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I'll be back next month with another fun project for Lavender Blu Journals!

Buzzing In with Dr Digi's

 Hello, my friends!

I'm very happy to be sharing a second project as Guest Design Team member for
Dr. Digi's House of Stamps!

If you're not familiar with Dr Digi's, it's an online shop that carries a wonderful - and fun -
assortment of digital images, papers, and sentiments. They also carry some fabulous cutting files!

Today I have combined a digital background paper,
along with two fabulous cutting files.

Here's my card:

Isn't that bee fabulous?!
I think it is my favorite cut file EVER!
It is so intricate and detailed!

I actually began by cutting my card base, using the shape feature in Design Space.
Top to bottom it measures 5 1/2 inches.
I printed the background paper out, and then cut it to mat on the card base.
Knowing I would just be using pieces of the honeycomb cut, I sized that at 6" square.
Once those pieces were all assembled, I measured the space left,
and sized my bee to fill it.

When the bee was adhered in place I did just a little embellishing.
I added big drops of Glossy Accents for the buggy eyes of the bee.
Then I used the Spectrum Noir Shimmer Marker to fill in the wings.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with these fabulous products!
Big thanks to Dr. Digi for having me as a Guest DT!

Dr.Digi's Files Used:

Customizing a Cut File with Printable Cuttable Creatables

         Hello, my friends!

It's time for a new project share for Printable Cuttable Creatables!

One of the great benefits of using cut files
is how you can totally customize them to suit your own needs.
As I was snooping through the shop, I came across this wonderful train file.
Christmas trains are very nostalgic for me.
They bring up very special memories of past Christmases,
with my parents and three brothers.
I immediately thought it would make a great slimline card.

For my project today, I have used the Vintage Christmas SVG Bundle.
You can also find the train on it's own in the Christmas Train SVG File.

Here's my card:

Isn't that a great Christmas card?
It was so much fun to put together.

Sometimes when I see these cut files, I feel a little bit daunted because of all the pieces.
Print then Cut is always an option.
However, once you break things down, it's not really daunting at all.

Since this was a nostalgic project for me, I really wanted to use traditional Christmas colours.
This is where the customization began.
I used Cricut Design Space for all my work.

Here is how the original file uploaded:

Here is how I customized it to my traditional colours:

Here are all the pieces after they were cut out:

Yes, there are lots of pieces but with the included instructions, and a bottle of glue,
it's easy peasy to put it all together!

Once it was all adhered in place, it was easy to add to my glittery slimline card base.
Then I had an opportunity for further customization, with some fun embellishing!

Here on the engine, I added Stickles to the window, the bow ribbon, and the engine light.
I also added small red rhinestones to the wreath.

I also added Stickles to the star on top of the tree, and larger rhinestones to the tree.

This is a very special card to me now!
When you look at cut files, don't just look at what is there.
Look at how you can customize them to be what you need!

My card was created using a piece of Toner Art with a piece of Toner Foil.

Here's my card:

Isn't that foiling pretty?
The Galaxy Rainbow (F0067) foil has a beautiful holographic stripe in it.
It's a simple card design but that's all you need with this gorgeous foil!

I took photos from several angles, so you could see the wonderful shine.
You can also see that I added a little leftover strip to the inside of the card.

Here's a close-up look of the fine lettering of the foiled sentiment,
along with another angle below.

Toner foiling is so much fun to do!

Happy Thanksgiving Day with Dr. Digi's House of Stamps

 Hello, my friends!

I'm very happy to be sharing a project as Guest Design Team member for
Dr. Digi's House of Stamps!

If you're not familiar with Dr Digi's, it's an online shop that carries a wonderful - and fun -
assortment of digital images, papers, and sentiments. They also carry some fabulous cutting files!

I have used all four of those things to create my card;
 the digital pumpkin image,
the pumpkin background paper,
the Thanksgiving sentiment,
and the brick cut file.

Here it is:

I created a 5 1/2" square card base, from white cardstock.
I then printed the background paper out, and cut that at 5 1/2" square,
adhering it to the front of my card base.
I also sized the brick stencil at 5 1/2" square, and cut it from black cardstock.
I sized the pumpkin image to print one large and two smaller pumpkins.
I then coloured them and fussy cut them out.

I snipped out part of the brick cut, to show off more of the background paper,
and to open a spot for the sentiment.
The sentiment was circle die-cut, and then matted twice,
before adhering it in place with foam tape.
I backed the brick with a matching solid coloured cardstock.
Finally, I adhered the pumpkins in place;
the large one flat, and the two smaller with foam tape.

Thanksgiving is fast approaching here in Canada, and next month in the US.
So I thought it would be appropriate to create a Thanksgiving card.
Since all of the products I used are digital, and available right away,
you have lots of time to make one of your own! :o)

Dr.Digi's Files Used:

Thanksgiving Sentiment Sheet 01;

Old Bricks Stencil.

WRMK Nesting Circle Dies;
Spectrum Noir Markers.

Autumn Greetings Card - Printable Cuttable Creatables

       Hello, my friends! Happy Fall!

It's time for a new project share for Printable Cuttable Creatables!

I am loving the cooler temperatures and ALL that is FALL!
So I just had to create a Fall card!

I have used:

 Autumn Greetings SVG Cut File,

and Autumn Harvest Digital Paper Pack.

Here's my project:

For me...plaid just goes hand in hand with Fall (Christmas too)!
So I used this lovely plaid paper from the collection for my background.

This is such a lovely/intricate cut!
In Cricut Design Space, I sized it to fit my card.
Then it was simply a matter of cutting and gluing.
I did do a little inking of the pumpkin stem, and around the plaid paper.

To finish everything off I added some pretty sparkly sequins!

There are SO MANY fabulous Fall files in the shop!
I'll be using more of them in the months ahead!

U R Out of This World Card - Printable Cuttable Creatables

         Hello, my friends!

It's time for a new project share for Printable Cuttable Creatables!

Have you seen all the fabulous Space Themed files that have been added to the shop?
So many fun new listings!
I have combined three of them on my project today.

I have used:

Out of this World Title SVG,

Spaceship Rocket SVG File,

and Planets SVG File.

Here's my project:

Isn't that Fun?
Here's how I did it:

I began by making my background.
I've inked "galaxy" backgrounds before.
However, these cuts have so much color in them that I wanted something different.
This was so simple!
I cut a piece of black cardstock 5 1/2" square.
I used a fan brush, with white acrylic paint, and simply splattered the paper.
Then I set it aside to thoroughly dry.

Here are all the pieces I cut out:

The fun title cut includes a little rocket.
Since I was using a bigger rocket, I decided to leave that out.
I had an idea...so I cut 2 of the "OUT" and "WORLD".
From the second cut, I used only a "U" and an "R".
Now my title is "U R OUT OF THIS WORLD".

Then it was just a matter of gluing all the little bits together,
and adhering them in place on the background.
I then added it to a yellow card base.

I did curve the spaceship slightly, and adhered in place with foam tape.

Such a fun card to put together!
Head on over to the shop and check out all the space files!
