You Colour My World

Happy Saturday, my friends!

I hope you're all enjoying a beautiful weekend!
I'm just popping in with a quick little project share!

I recently discovered some fabulous digital images over on Etsy.
They are from Vera Lane Studios.
These images really make me smile...and you know how much I like to smile! :o)

Although my fingers were just itching to colour this girl...I didn't!
This is the project that popped into my head and had to be let out!

I used my Gelatos to colour a rainbow background on a 6 X 6 canvas.
Then after colouring just the skin of the sweet girl, I adhered her to the canvas with dimensionals.
Finally, I made the boxed words on the computer, printed them out, and adhered them.

I hope you like my cheerful canvas!

Materials Used:
6 X 6  Canvas;
Image: Vera Lane Studio - Whimsical Girl With Florals;
Spectrum Noir Markers;
Faber Castell Gelatos;
My Computer Generated Block Words.

I love this Nancy! Love, love, love... I'm going to check those images out right away but in the meantime I have a couple things to say about this piece and how fun it is. I like how you've left the image alone and added the colour to the background. This whole project just screams 'ARTSY FARTSY!'

After the gloomy day we had here today this wonderful burst of color was a real treat for the eyes. I agree with Marilyn--Artsy Fartsy! LOL Hugs!

I couldn't have said it any better than Marilyn "ARTSY FARTSY!" LOL... totally agree! Leaving her un-colored made her jump off the canvas :-) Love the look on her face :-0 Great background too... I have 4 or 6 Gelatos... Thanks for the reminder!

Hi Nancy, me again, just wondering how you did the boxed words on the computer...please.xxx

Hi Annie! The only program I have is Paint. I used the text feature to type out the words, and then just surrounded each one with a rectangle. You could easily just type the words, print them out, and do a box around them by hand. Hope this helps! :o)

Wow Nancy....you're really branching out! This is so cool and totally reminds me of the stuff I've been seeing Dyan Reavely do in her art journals. Are you planning to start art journaling by any chance? I have bought one but haven't done anything in it yet. I also bought gelatos and haven't touched those yet either. LOL Great job...keep exploring! Hopefully it will rub off on me. LOL
