Gecko Galz May Customer Challenge

Hello, my friends!

Welcome back to a brand new Customer Challenge at Gecko Galz.
The May challenge is:

Country Charm

* * * * *
I think "Country Charm" means different things to different people.
This fabulous image shouts country charm to me.

The image was brighter than I wanted it to be after I colored it.
To tone it down I inked over the whole thing with distress ink.
I really like the result!

I did some simple layering.
Then I added the red gingham strip as the final touch of country charm.

Other Materials Used:
Papers: Recollections - Cardstock;
Color: Spectrum Noir Markers;
Ink: Distress Ink - Walnut Stain;
Unknown Twine.

Gecko Galz Products Used:
Deadwood Paper Pack - Background Paper
Kitchen Sink Paper Pack - Red Gingham Paper

This is beautiful Nancy! Love that piece of red gingham and that image is gorgeous! Another tip to soften an image if the colors are too bright or bold, is to use a bit of white gesso. I do it all the time and it truly gives a beautiful soft look. :)
Have a beautiful day!

Jo

I love the rustic charm of this card. What a fantastic job you did in coloring it. The distress ink was a great call and the bit of gingham was the perfect touch. I do hope you will enter this in our May challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies: http://2craftycrittercrazies.blogspot.ca/

This has worked out so well, I was trying to figure out how you got the nice sepia vintage look with your colouring! Glad it was something I could have a go at too :)
