Clear Scraps - Embossed Acrylic Front Card with Tutorial

Hello, my friends!

I'm back with a new project share for Clear Scraps!
I'm also over on the Clear Scraps blog today.
There you'll find a printable version of this tutorial.

This time I have used a piece of a 12 X 12 Acrylic Sheet
from Clear Scraps to create a pretty card.
This acrylic is so much fun to play with!
It comes with a protective covering on both sides of the acrylic.
I appreciate it being there because it protects it from scratches, until you're all finished preparing it.

Here is the card I made:

Here's how I did it...

I began by cutting the acrylic 6" X 5".
I then cut one 6" side using the Tim Holtz Brackets On the Edge Die.
Now it measures about 6" X 4 1/2".
I cut a piece of decorative paper to measure 6" X 6".
Again, I cut one side with the die, this time with the multi-bracket side.
Score the card at 4 1/2" from the straight edge.

Next, I centered the acrylic piece in a small floral embossing folder.
At this point, the protective film is still in place.
Then I laid the Tim Holtz Oval Embossing Diffuser on top
before running it through my Big Shot.

Isn't that cool?
It embossed all but the center oval.
Now is the time to peel the protective cover off the front and back of the acrylic piece.

Next, I used the Embossing Diffuser as a stamp positioner for my sentiment.
I wanted it to be in the center of the acrylic oval,
and this ensured that it was.

For the finishing touch on the acrylic,
I inked over the embossed flowers using green StazOn ink.
I also did some light inking around the edge of the acrylic.

To finish the card I did some pen stitching around the oval of the Diffuser.
I also added a stamped butterfly.
I used a decorative punch on the two bottom corners.
I used a strip of Score Tape to adhere the acrylic to the card fold.

I added an oval to the back of the card.
This offers a place to write a message,
without interfering with the design on the front.

Finally, I added a pretty, sparkly double bow to the front of the fold-over.
