Scripture Challenge - Home

It was sure hard to decide on a scripture this week! There were so many good ones again...and so many that seemed to speak to me! I'll have to work on some extras just for fun :o) This was the one for me though, and I think my page says it all. The one thing that I forgot to do before taking my picture was to underline the word "HOME". So I did that later. I didn't actually put it as a title anywhere and I wanted to draw some attention to it.

Scripture Challenge - Abide

I received a wonderful affirmation from the Lord his week! However, it wasn't from the "abide" verse but rather from the verse following it. I had been reading only the verses that contained the challenge word but the Lord led me to read further in this particular passage. God is great...and with Him my JOYFUL PURPOSE...and my PURPOSEFUL JOY shall continue!! :o)

Scripture Challenge - Temptation

The word this week was TEMPTATION. I used a little more symbolism in my 6 X 6 layout this week. I tried to give my page the cold feeling these verses called for so I kept it mostly blue & white. I layered a piece of white vellum over the navy cardstock and ran them through the Big Shot using the Fiskars Raindrop texture plate before cutting it out. The embossing looks like tears. Then I wrapped the heart with fibre to represent the way we are bound by our sin when we give into our temptations and we are separated from God. Then I pierced a pin through the heart, representing the griefs mentioned in the verse.

It was most unusual that these were the verses I felt I needed to do. I am an encourager and tend to do happy and uplifting projects. As I was taking the pictures of my page I took a close-up of the embossing and found my encouragement. The raindrops which look like the tears...well...they also look like blood drops. They are the reminder that Jesus came to earth and shed His blood on the cross for us. So when we fail and give into TEMPTATION and sin...we have FORGIVENESS. I guess it was a happy and uplifting project after all! :o)

HOPE

Here's the first Scripture Challenge and the word was Hope. I love the word HOPE and I really love these verses found in Romans 8. My hope is in the Lord!

New Beginnings

Well...it's 2010 and I finally have something to blog about! I have joined an online challenge this year. It's the Scripture Challenge 2 over at Triple the Scraps. I finished my first page and hope to have a picture up later today. I hope to stick with it throughout the year and post my progression here on my blog.

I sure will be busy having fun! I have several other projects in the works as well, like a fun mini kit exchange with my new friend Ruthie. I really have to figure out how to put a slide-show together. However, before anything else I have to figure out how to get this blog looking the way I want. That way Ruthie will have something pretty to see when she comes to visit! lol
