ABC Scripture Challenge - Motive

Can you believe I'm already halfway through my second year of doing a Scripture Challenge? Did you know I started this blog because of last years Scripture Challenge? Somehow I came across Patter's blog while I was snooping around the internet. I thought it was brilliant! I could combine my new found interest in scrapbooking with my love for the Lord and His Word. My prayer has always been that these Scripture Challenge posts would be an encouragement to those that see them! Now, when I say "prayer", I mean it literally, as I pray for all of you as I work on these posts. My "motivation" is to post what God wants me to post, and only what will glorify Him. However, I do have a confession to make. There was the time when the comments weren't coming and I whined to my husband that nobody liked my page! lol My husband said, "But Nancy, WHY are you doing this?" (Yes, I know, he's very clever sometimes!) His question reminded me that I'm not doing it FOR the comments. When we try to do things solely to please our fellow man it's a never ending struggle! We are far too critical of each other, and we just can't please each other, can we?  One thing I that I know for sure is this; if I do what the Lord wants me to do He blesses me richly! Each of you that visit my little blog and leave a sweet comment for me are a wonderful blessing from the Lord and I appreciate you very much! :o)

As I scrutinised your layout I wondered why you chose grey tones and then I realised how calming the page was. Was that a conscious or unconscious motive? Whatever the reasoning behind it, it works and looks beautiful.

Nancy! Thank you for your visit to my blog and your sweet comments. :)

Just today I was talking to a good friend of mine about this very topic. Amazing how the Lord gently reminds us about a topic or truth that He really, really wants us to get and understand.

I don't get a bunch of comments on my blog but when I do it brings a smile to my face. And yet I also need to remember why I write and share. Thanks for the reminder! Have a blessed weekend!

Nancy,
I like you have found this "blogging" a humbling experience. I too want to impart, firstly, my love of Jesus and my art with scrapbooking. For me its just a way to focus this part of my life on the things of the Lord. Every aspect of our lives should be this way, but when people think of a craft/hobby, they don't think it's necessary to incorporate your faith, but you should... by our walk, they way we speak, conduct ourselves and maybe even when we do a hobby, we should try to impart Jesus. For sharing the word was what he commanded us. I love Jesus and I wish to show that to everyone. Thanks Nancy for being an inspiration, and for all of your beautiful comments, I truly appreciate them.
Take Care.

P.S.
For some reason I'm having problems with blogger adding my comments.

You always help me put things into perspective. :-) It's nice to have people comment on our work. We want people to like the things we create and we like to HEAR that they like it. But it's NOT supposed to be about the accolades and pats on the back. That's what our flesh wants and overcoming flesh is a hard battle. Thanks for making me take a look back at the reason I started blogging and just WHO gives me the ability to create artwork. You, my friend, are a blessing!

Oh my goodness Nancy, your post is just wonderful and then when I saw your page and the verse you chose I just thought "Nancy knows what is important." Thanks so much for being so faithful!

You've only been blogging and scrapbooking for a couple years??!! Awesome talent you have there my friend. I'm so glad you have your blog. I need to have someone keep me in check since I do a pretty poor job of it myself :-)

Okay, this layout is beautiful and I love it, prickly as it is I do love it :-) Prickly because it stabbed at my conscience. Thank you so very much for the "head slap" :-)
Love you Girlfriend - Leslie
