Blog Birthday Party

Hello, my friends!

Today is a day to celebrate!
My dear friend Dunja is having her 7 year Blog Birthday Party!
She has invited several of her friends to join her in a blog hop.
I am thrilled to have been invited to be part of all the fun!

I met Dunja shortly after I started blogging.
It was always so inspiring to visit her blog and see her beautiful projects.
We became fast friends!

When Dunja started her own Challenge Blog...A Die for a Sketch
...I was beyond excited to be in on it from the very beginning!
It was my very first DT and I enjoyed every minute of it!
Several of the girls from that DT have become my closest blog friends.

So Dunja is very special to me!
Congratulations to you, on seven successful years, my friend! :o)

Now...let's get on with the party! :o)

Dunja has created this wonderful mood board for the occasion.

Isn't it fabulous!
It inspired me to create this 6 X 6 canvas project.

I tore some paper strips and layered them onto the front of the canvas.
I heat embossed the dandelion images in white.
I then heat embossed again over the white using a sparkly gold embossing powder.
The same gold was embossed around the edges.
The sentiment was stamped with white ink,
and then embossed with clear embossing powder.

The sides of the canvas were coloured with distress stain,
and then stamped with a wood plank stamp.

 This photo shows the sparkle a bit better.
 I added some wood veneers that were coloured with gold smooch.
Finally, I added some pretty sequins.

Materials Used:
6 X 6 Canvas
Papers: Recollections - Charming Paper Pad;
Stamps: CTMH - Treasures, Bo Bunny - Wall to Wall Textures;
Ink: Distress Ink - Walnut Stain, Distress Embossing Ink,
CTMH - Ponderosa Pine, SSS - White;
Embossing Powder: SSS - Fine Detail Clear,
Ranger - Enchanted Gold;
Sequins & Wood Veneer Stars - SSS Card Kits;
Smooch: Gold;
Extras: Distress Stain - Forrest Moss,
Claudine Hellmuth - Multi Matte Medium.

In real life, dandelions are a bit of a nuisance especially when I have to weed them out of my garden....but, the image of a wispy dandelion seed head is so beautiful and that I really love!
They make a fabulous design on your canvas especially with all that gorgeous sparkle and shine; just stunning :-)

Big hugs, Kat xx

Well, I don't know what happened to my comment Nancy but it's gone... off into the wind like those dandelion wisps! If it does show up forgive the duplicate although you can never have too many comments.
Anyway, what I said before was this is a Fab-U-Lous project, I love the dandelion and wisps and the perfect sentiment. I am now off to check out the hop!
