Where Ideas Bloom DT

Hello, my friends!

I have a new card to share with you today!

Many of you know I recently met my friend Marilyn in person for the first time.
This is the card I made for her to celebrate the occasion.

I was inspired by these sweet little Wooden Eyeglasses from Where Ideas Bloom.
I also used the lovely little Pink Floral Sequins, that you'll be able to find in the shop very soon!

If you haven't yet checked out the Where Ideas Bloom Shop, please do!
It's all loaded up and open for business.
Also, the rest of the DT girls have been very busy creating beautiful projects to inspire you.
You'll find all of them at the Where Ideas Bloom Blog.
Please head over there and join the blog.
That way you won't miss any of the fun! :o)

I can honestly say that this is the trickiest and most time consuming card I have ever made.
It's actually an acrylic pocket card with multiple layers and dies.
The trick came in positioning everything "just so" to make it work!

The wooden frames were painted with silver metallic Smooch, and fastened to the acrylic with mini brads.
I then coloured the "lenses" of the glasses with my black Spectrum Noir marker.
The acrylic was then adhered to the layered background with Score Tape on only three sides;
leaving the top open for the insert.
I used several Cheery Lynn dies to frame the acrylic and hide the tape.
With that, the base was complete.

Moving on the the tag:
I used this fun image from Lacy Sunshine.
This image is made for Halloween but you know I don't do Halloween.
When I first saw it I thought it would be such fun to colour, and could be used for a get well card.
However, it also looks like someone who has had a lot of "work" done, right? ;o)
It was just perfect for this card!
So I coloured it and layered it up on this tag insert.

Finally, I made up my sentiment on the computer, printed it out, and added it to the back of the tag.
I included a personal message after the photo was taken.

Ephemera's Vintage Garden - Loving Sweetness Project #3

Hello, my friends!

I'm back today to share my third and final project using the beautiful  "Loving Sweetness" kit
from Ephemera's Vintage Garden
  You can find it HERE.

This is a photo heavy post...so I'll try to not make it word heavy as well! ;o)

This printable kit makes a wonderful 4" X 6" journal.
Aside from six gorgeous pages, the includes a couple of bonus pages.
I printed each of the six pages, and then printed a bonus page on the back.
I have not done double sided pages before...it worked like a charm!
I added plain cardstock for the front and back cover, along with three pages throughout the book.
This gave me an empty space to fill with several of the "Art Bits" from the collection.
Everything has been distressed with both my Distrezz-It-All and Iced Spruce Distress Ink.
Okay...kind of word heavy after all but not too bad! lol

Every mini album needs a box.
I made this matchbox using my Cricut Fancy Boxes Cartridge.

The inside of the box needed to be decorated too.

Here's the mini album beside the matchbox.

A piece of the ephemera forms a pocket for a couple of tags.
These tags match the collection and are one of Debbie's Freebies.

Here's the first printed page.

The page on the left is one of the bonus pages.
The right is embellished cardstock.

The left has a little belly band for some great tags.

This is what the entire bonus page looks like.
There are several of these throughout the book.
I only took a picture of one.

On the right is the great pocket from the kit.
It holds a couple of great journaling tags.

Finally, the back cover!

I hope you enjoyed seeing this sweet mini album!
This kit is LOADED with so much goodness that I couldn't use it all! :o)

Head on over to Ephemera's Vintage Garden and look at all the fantastic printable kits available!
Consider picking up this wonderful Loving Sweetness for your own use!
Those of you who are not able to print them yourselves can find them in the Etsy Shop HERE.
Oh, and don't forget to go to Debbie's blog HERE to sign up for her newsletter.
Debbie is very generous with her gorgeous freebies! :o)

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #7 - Anxious

Sunday Blessings to you, my friends!

I'm back with my latest Scripture Challenge Tag!
The word Patter gave us this time was "anxious",
which immediately reminded me of one of my favorite Scripture verses.

Have you noticed that there is a LOT we can be anxious about these days?
We can worry about health, relationships, finances, natural disasters, war...the list goes on and on!
We can carry all that anxiety around like a banner.
It can take over our lives and be our main focus.

With this tag I tried to display the chaos that can occur when we are anxious.
In Philippians 4:6 we are told:
"Do not be anxious about ANYTHING,
but in EVERYTHING,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God."

What happens when we give all our anxious thoughts over to God?
We are told in Philippians 4:7:
"And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds
in Christ Jesus."

This is displayed on the back of my tag.
The "anxious" banner is gone, and the arms are open wide in praise.
The colours and papers are happy and calming.
We have PEACE and JOY!! :o)

Image: Sushi Dolls - Banner of Love,
