{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #10 - Still

Hello, my friends!

Okay, here's my last project share before I leave for my big adventure! :o)

It's another Scripture Challenge Tag!
Now that I'm finally all caught up...I'm going to be behind again! ;o)

Challenge #10 is Still.
I must say that it is one of my favorite words.
Have you ever pondered it?
Spending time being still is so important for our well-being!
Yet we live in this frantic world where there's no time to be still!

This time of year, my husband and I really enjoy spending time at the river.
We enjoy walking the trail and sitting on a bench to enjoy the view.
It's a beautiful spot to be still.

Have you every tried it? What happens when you're still?
I know that wonderful things happen when I take the time to be still.
Have you ever tried it? Please do!
Many people we see on our river walks are not interested in being still.
How can you be still when you have a cell phone glued to your hand...or your ear? lol

This image by Sherri Baldy was just right for my tag.
This sweet girl is just sitting and being still.
The Scripture verse I chose for my tag is the first part of Psalm 37:7. It says:

"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him."

Isn't that beautiful? How easy is that?
Just be STILL...

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #9 - Hope and Rest and More...

Happy Monday, friends!

I'm back today to share my next Scripture Challenge tag.
This time the challenge was "Hope and Rest and More."

When I re-skimmed the email that came in from Patter,
this Scripture verse really jumped out at me.
It's harder to read on the patterned paper but it says:

"He tends His flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart;
He gently leads those that have young."
(Isaiah 40:11)

In case there's any confusion...
we are the flock that God, our shepherd, cares for.
He gathers US in his arms.
He carries US close to His heart.
How wonderful!
How can we not find hope and rest in His loving care?

My tag is very simple but was lots of fun to put together.
The sweet sheep were created for me by Wendy at All Dressed Up.
I don't see it in the shop but please let me know if you're interested in it.

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #8 - Intercessory Prayer

Hello, my friends!

Things have been a little bit quiet around here lately!
I have been VERY busy finishing some projects
...and preparing for my trip!
It's coming so fast now, and there's lots more to do! :o)

I have finally caught up on my Scripture Challenge tags.
I considered posting them all in one post but decided to spread them out instead.

With this tag I have combined a couple of my DTs.
The lovely white floral sequins, aqua sequins, and white twirly stems all come from
the Where Ideas Bloom Shop.
The sweet image is a Sushi Doll that I have used before.

Challenge #8 was Intercessory Prayer.
This is a prayer said on the behalf of someone else.
It truly is a JOY for me to pray for each and every one of you!

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #7 - Anxious

Sunday Blessings to you, my friends!

I'm back with my latest Scripture Challenge Tag!
The word Patter gave us this time was "anxious",
which immediately reminded me of one of my favorite Scripture verses.

Have you noticed that there is a LOT we can be anxious about these days?
We can worry about health, relationships, finances, natural disasters, war...the list goes on and on!
We can carry all that anxiety around like a banner.
It can take over our lives and be our main focus.

With this tag I tried to display the chaos that can occur when we are anxious.
In Philippians 4:6 we are told:
"Do not be anxious about ANYTHING,
but in EVERYTHING,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God."

What happens when we give all our anxious thoughts over to God?
We are told in Philippians 4:7:
"And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds
in Christ Jesus."

This is displayed on the back of my tag.
The "anxious" banner is gone, and the arms are open wide in praise.
The colours and papers are happy and calming.
We have PEACE and JOY!! :o)

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge 2015 #6 - Follower

Sunday Blessings, my friends!

It has happened again...
I have gotten a little bit behind on my Scripture Challenge tags.
Just a little bit...so I'll be back on track very soon!

I LOVE to make these Scripture challenge projects.
After Patter posts the challenge, I prayerfully consider it.
I don't read Patter's devotional, or look at anyone else's projects, until I have finished my post.
As I study the Scripture verses that relate to the word or subject given, one will jump out at me,
along with a picture in my mind of what my project will look like.
Then I know what I need to make!

The trick is doing it using what I have on hand! lol

Have you ever been deep in a thick forest?
It's like being in a different world.
The darkness, the smell, the rustling of little critters...
it's all so wonderful!
It can be a frightening place, as well.
So dark and disorienting.
It's easy to become lost and run in circles trying to find your way out.
Then you see a glimmer of light...you keep your eyes on the light and follow it to the edge of the forest.
YAY!! Freedom from the darkness!

So it is with life!
Jesus is the light!
We just need to follow that light, and we will be led out of the dark scary places,
and into a world of freedom and JOY!

For those of you that have been wondering where my
Hide His Word in My Heart Scripture pages have gone...I'll tell you.
I was having a really hard time with keeping up with a page a week.
With all the my other DT posts, and challenges I want to enter, I just couldn't continue.
I will just continue to use Scripture on other projects...as you know I like to do! :o)

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #5 - Not Alone

Hello, my friends!

I have a new Scripture Challenge tag to share with you today!

The {Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #5 is "Not Alone",
and you can read/see Patter's wonderful post HERE.

Do you ever feel like you're all alone in the world?
I think we all do at one time or another...or another and another! lol
Sometimes it's even the easiest to feel the loneliest when we are in a big crowd, isn't it?
What an awful feeling.

Yet what a comfort it is to know that we really aren't alone at all!
God has promised to be with us ALWAYS.
In Deuteronomy 31:5 it says:

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you;
He will NEVER leave you nor forsake you.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

I looked up the word forsake in the dictionary.
It means: "to quit or leave entirely; abandon; desert."

What a wonderful promise we have been given!
I think that sometimes, when we have trouble remembering this promise,
God will give us wonderful reminders that He is there.
One way He does this is by gifting us with someone special...just when we need them.

Next time you are feeling alone, please remember that you are not alone;
God is with you ALWAYS! :o)

Here is a beautiful song that fits perfectly with this challenge:

Here are the words:

I Am Not Alone
by Kari Jobe

"When I walk through deep waters
I know that You will be with me
When I'm standing in the fire
I will not be overcome
Through the valley of the shadow
I will not fear

I am not alone
I am not alone
You will go before me
You will never leave me

In the midst of deep sorrow
I see Your light is breaking through
The dark of night will not overtake me
I am pressing into You
Lord, You fight my every battle
And I will not fear

You amaze me
Redeem me
You call me as Your own

You're my strength
You're my defender
You're my refuge in the storm
Through these trials
You've always been faithful
You bring healing to my soul"

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #4 - Wisdom

Hello, my friends!

I hope your week is going well!
A big welcome to my newest friends!

I have my next Scripture Challenge tag to share with you today.
I'm a few days late with this one but no longer behind.

The word we were given this time is "wisdom".
You can read Patter's great devotional on the subject HERE.

I think that the world's definition of wisdom is somewhat different than God's definition.
The world sees wisdom as something that comes from education;
more of a learning or being book smart.

I think that wisdom that comes from God is taking the knowledge that we have and using it appropriately.
I tried to depict this with my tag design and my chosen Scripture verse.

I used an adorable Sushi Doll called "I Love Nerds" that you can find HERE.
He's a sweet little geek, and I have surrounded him with books.
He actually reminds me of my little brother when he was young! lol
The Scripture verse, in Proverbs 3:21, instructs him on what he should do with his knowledge:

"My son, preserve sound judgement and discernment,
do not let them out of your sight."

Such sound instruction for each one of us, don't you think?

Here's my tag:

One more Scripture verse I'd like to share with you is found in James 1:5:

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,
who gibes generously to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to you."

I hope the rest of your week is full of joy! :o)

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #3 - Truth

Hello, my sweet friends!

I'm so glad you stopped by!
I've got my next Scripture Challenge tag to share with you.

The word Patter gave us for Challenge #3 is "Truth".
As soon as I heard it, this Scripture verse came to my mind, and so did the design.
The only problem was that when the design was complete
...there wasn't room for the entire verse!
So I have the complete Scripture on the back of my tag.
It is found in John 8: 32, and says:

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Jesus is the truth and He will set us free:
free from worry, free from fear, free from facing life alone.

Sounds more like a study on freedom than truth, doesn't it?
Well, we can't be truly FREE without the TRUTH!

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #2 - Representative

Hello, my friends!

Today I have a new {Glory Art} Scripture Challenge tag to share with you.

The word that Patter gave us this time was "Representative."
For some reason the first thing that popped into my head was a man in a business suit.
So I just went with it!

It used to be understood that when people worked for a company,
they were representatives of that company.
It was important, for both the company and the employee, to give their very best effort.
The way they dressed, the way they treated other people, their manners;
it was all a reflection of the company they worked for.
People took pride in the way they did their job.

That seems to have changed a great deal.
Society has become more concerned with the expression of individual rights and freedoms.
"I can dress how I want, do what I want, say what I want"
...has become the norm.
Everyone just seems to be putting in time to collect their pay.
Kindness and good manners, along with professionalism, seems to be a thing of the past.

I'm not saying this is true everywhere.
I'm just sharing my thought process as I was meditating on this Scripture verse,
and explaining my design.

So this leads me to the Scripture challenge aspect of the word "Representative".
It used to be that followers of Jesus Christ were "different" in their behaviour.
They could be picked out in a crowd by the way they acted, spoke, and treated other people.
Sadly, that is no longer the case.
The lines have been blurred by our sinful nature.
We have become a people of judgement, criticism, and selfishness
.
Jesus did not judge...He loved!
Jesus did not criticize...He lovingly corrected!
Jesus was not selfish...He gave freely!

If we are to be REPRESENTATIVES of Christ then we need to follow the example that He gave us!
The old WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) thing really makes sense,
and being "different" is a very good thing!

I am grateful to have received this reminder this week! :o)
