Scrapbook Blessings Club - September Challenge

Hello, my friends!

Today is the start of a new challenge at Scrapbook Blessings Club!
I missed out on the fun last month because I was away.
This month it's an easy one that you can all join in on.

The September challenge is:
ANYTHING GOES!
As always, there is an optional twist:
YOUR FAVORITE TECHINIQUE!

Our generous Sponsor this month is:

Scrapping For Less

They are offering a fabulous prize!
Details can be found at Scrapbook Blessings Club.

I have created a card using products that you can find at Scrapping For Less.
The items available are listed under my card.
I also used a few of my favorite techniques:
colouring, punching, and die-cutting.

This card was inspired by the fun file folder edge dies.
They were gifted to me by a dear friend
but you can find your own at Scrapping For Less.
I also used this sweet Sushi Doll called D's Obsession.
It's an older image but it was perfect for a "back to school" themed card.
You'll find it HERE towards the bottom of the page.

Here's my card:

Materials Used:
Papers: Rcollections - Cardstock, DCWV - Hittin' the Books Paperpad;
Image: Sushi Doll - D's Obsession,
Punch: EK Success Border Punch;
Paperclip and Ribbon from my Stash.

Can be found at Scrapping For Less:
Tim Holtz Distress Ink;
Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher;
My Favorite Things - File Folder Edge Die;

It truly is a JOY for me to pray for each and every one of you!

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #7 - Anxious

Sunday Blessings to you, my friends!

I'm back with my latest Scripture Challenge Tag!
The word Patter gave us this time was "anxious",
which immediately reminded me of one of my favorite Scripture verses.

Have you noticed that there is a LOT we can be anxious about these days?
We can worry about health, relationships, finances, natural disasters, war...the list goes on and on!
We can carry all that anxiety around like a banner.
It can take over our lives and be our main focus.

With this tag I tried to display the chaos that can occur when we are anxious.
In Philippians 4:6 we are told:
"Do not be anxious about ANYTHING,
but in EVERYTHING,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God."

What happens when we give all our anxious thoughts over to God?
We are told in Philippians 4:7:
"And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds
in Christ Jesus."

This is displayed on the back of my tag.
The "anxious" banner is gone, and the arms are open wide in praise.
The colours and papers are happy and calming.
We have PEACE and JOY!! :o)

Materials Used:
Papers: Recollections - Cardstock, K & Company - Urban Rhapsody;
Image: Sushi Dolls - Banner of Love,
Spectrum Noir Markers;

Happy Easter With Some Sushi Dolls!!

Hello, my friends!

I spent some time today playing with a couple of new release Sushi Dolls!
They are called Bunny Boy and Bunny Girl,
and you can find them in the shop right HERE.
I had just finished coloring them up when I watched a great video by Dina for Split Coast Stampers.
(You can see the video HERE)

I knew these cuties would be perfect on this double twisted easel card!

First, I fussy cut the images.
Then I prepared the base and added my first layer of decorative paper.
These sweet kids are out on their Easter egg hunt, so there had to be some layers of grass.
I cut a variety of circles out of several papers, trimmed them and nestled them in the grass.
Don't they look like pretty Easter eggs?
I popped the sentiment up on dimensionals to act as a stopper.
I took several pictures so you can get a good look!

Here's the front view:

The view from the top:

This is Bunny Girl:

Bunny Boy comes with his little basket filled with one egg:

Here is the card with the panels flat:

Here it is all folded up and ready for an envelope:

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #4 - Wisdom

Hello, my friends!

I hope your week is going well!
A big welcome to my newest friends!

I have my next Scripture Challenge tag to share with you today.
I'm a few days late with this one but no longer behind.

The word we were given this time is "wisdom".
You can read Patter's great devotional on the subject HERE.

I think that the world's definition of wisdom is somewhat different than God's definition.
The world sees wisdom as something that comes from education;
more of a learning or being book smart.

I think that wisdom that comes from God is taking the knowledge that we have and using it appropriately.
I tried to depict this with my tag design and my chosen Scripture verse.

I used an adorable Sushi Doll called "I Love Nerds" that you can find HERE.
He's a sweet little geek, and I have surrounded him with books.
He actually reminds me of my little brother when he was young! lol
The Scripture verse, in Proverbs 3:21, instructs him on what he should do with his knowledge:

"My son, preserve sound judgement and discernment,
do not let them out of your sight."

Such sound instruction for each one of us, don't you think?

Here's my tag:

Materials Used:
Papers: Recollections - Cardstock;
Image: Sushi Dolls - I Love Nerds,
Spectrum Noir Markers;
Embossing Folder: Darice - School Books;
Stamp: Impression Obsession - Book Shelves;
Ink: Stampin' Up - Basic Brown;
Ribbon: Stampin' Up;
Alpha Stickers: Prima.

One more Scripture verse I'd like to share with you is found in James 1:5:

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,
who gibes generously to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to you."

 I hope the rest of your week is full of joy! :o)

{Glory Art} Scripture Challenge #1 - TRUST

Happy Sunday, my friends!

Welcome to my first Scripture Challenge post of 2015!
As most of you know,
I have been participating in Patter's Scripture Challenges for several years now.
(All previous years are listed in the Labels in my sidebar)
As you may also know...I did not complete the 2014 Challenge.
With my Mom getting sick and all...I got too far behind to catch up.
I am very excited to be starting all over again this year!

The challenge for 2015 is called {Glory Art} Scripture Challenge.
You can read all the details from Patter right HERE.
There is also a button in my sidebar.

After much thought over what format I would use this year, I have decided on tags.
My tags will be #10 size which is 4 1/4" X 8 1/2".
The reason I'm going with this size is because I have an antique sewing machine drawer
that will hold them beautifully.

* * * * *

The word Patter gave us to study this week is "TRUST".
I used the Scripture verse found in Proverbs 3:5a:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart!"

It goes on, in the second part of the verse and the next, to say:

"...and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him
and He will make your paths straight."

When we put our focus on God, we can be confident that He will guide us in the way we should go.
What a beautiful thing it is...
to be able to completely and totally rely on God Himself to direct our path through life.
There is such peace and joy in the knowledge that we never have to face this world alone! :o)

For my tag:

I cut/tore a variety of papers, distressed and inked them, and adhered them to my tag.
The sweet image is a new release from Sushi Dolls.
I stamped the verse on white and cut it into strips.
I thought it looked great on the pretty pink brick paper...like graffiti!
I added some lace and some flowers, and finally a decorative pin!

Materials Used:
Papers: Crate Paper - Maggie Holmes;
Spectrum Noir Markers;
Stamp: itty bitty by Unity - Trust With Your Heart;
Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, CTMH - Moonstruck,
Distress Ink - Walnut Stain;
Punch: EK Success - Scalloped Scallop;
Flowers: Gift from Joy;
Decorative Pin: The Nickel Nook;
Lace, Ribbon, Seam Binding: My Stash.

OH, HAPPY DAY!! SUSHI DOLLS are BACK!!

Happy Friday, my friends!

Seriously???
My third post in three days?
What's going on?

If you've missed some of my previous posts
please scroll down and take a peek!

I'm very glad that you're here to hear the good news!
Sushi Dolls are back...and better than ever!
You know that I've always loved playing with my Sushi Dolls.
After a long hiatus, Susi is back to creating these fun images that always make me smile.

Today I'm using "Let It Snow" which is a brand new release.
This is me standing in my back yard, shouting "Let It Snow!" lol

I colored the image with markers.
After die-cutting it out, I stamped some pink snowflakes around it.
Then I cut a piece of pretty pink Bazzill and stamped white snowflakes on that.
Cutting the top was really tricky but worth the effort.
I stamped the sentiment in pink and fussy cut it.
Finally, I added some rhinestones and a ribbon bow.

Materials Used:
Papers: Bazzill - Textured Cardstock;
Spectrum Noir Markers;
Die: Spellbinders - Labels Thirty,
Snowflake Border Die - Gift from Marilyn;
Ink: Martha Stewart - Pink Geranium,
Simon Says Stamp - White Pigment Ink;
Stamps: Tim Holtz - Mini Holidays 3,
Let It Snow - Gift from Marilyn;
Stickles: Cotton Candy;
Ribbon and Bling: My Stash.
