Gecko Galz August Customer Challenge - By the Shore

Hello, my friends!

Welcome back to a brand new Customer Challenge at Gecko Galz.
The fun August Challenge is:

By the Shore!

* * * * *
I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had with this project!
I always enjoy it when the pictures in my head come out in the photos on my blog! lol
The trick was figuring out how to do it! :o)

I was inspired to make this project when I saw the ship
on the Sail Away Collage Sheet from Gecko Galz.

I began by looking through my stash of little bottles.
This triangular glass bottle, with a cork stopper, was just perfect.
It measures 3" tall to the neck, and each side is 2 1/4" wide.
The glass is very thick, so the inside space is smaller.
I decided my ship would be best at 1 1/4" tall.
All the other elements for this project came from the
I determined the sizes I wanted them all to be,
and then set them all to print then cut on my Cricut.

Everything is adhered to the inside of the bottle, except the twine.
This is the front:

On the top of the cork I added a punched circle, and a starfish from the kit.

This is the back of the bottle.
For the back of the ship, I simple cut a mirror image.

This fun sign is one of the icons from the Sea Side Splendor Kit.
It made me laugh, so I just had to add it!

This is a bit of a top-side view.
Once everything was glued in place,
I added some small seashells, gold micro beads, and copper glitter.
I then put the cork in place and shook the bottle up.
You know what this does to the glitter, right?
So now it looks more beachy, and like there's sand in all the crevices.

The last thing I did was to wrap twine around the neck of the bottle
 and glue it in place.
I hope you like my ship in a bottle as much as I enjoyed making it! :o)
