Christmas in September

 Hello, my friends!

It's time for another new project share for Bowdabra!

This is also a new project for Relative-History!

I used a Bowdabra bow, along with a lovely paper from Relative-History,
to decorate a wood framed mirror. 

You can buy these simple wood frames at Michaels very inexpensively.
They come as photo frames or framed mirrors.

The paper I chose is from the beautiful Winter Wonderland Collection.
I distressed all the edges of the paper,
and adhered it in place over the frame.

 Then I went on to make the lovely red bow!

Here's how:

Supplies Used:

Mini Bowdabra Bow Making Tool and Ruler Kit;

Bowdabra Bow Wire;

Red Sparkly Wired Ribbon;

Decorated Wood Framed Mirror;

Scissors.

1. Place the ruler over the Mini Bowdabra.

2. Cut a piece of the Bowdabra wire approximately 18" long. Fold in half. Insert into the Bowdabra tool, as shown in the photo. Tuck the extra length under the base of the tool. 

3. Determine how long you want your tails to be. Insert the ribbon into the Bowdabra tool at that measurement. I made mine about 10" long.

4. Then determine how wide you want your bow to be. I wanted mine to be approximately 6" wide. I made my first loop the width of the ruler, which is just over 3". That will give just a little bit of extra room for some fluffing of the bow, and making it 6" wide.

5. Twist the ribbon, insert it into the tool, and form your second loop on the other side.

6. Make a second loop, on top of the first, measuring 2 1/" inches. Twist the ribbon, and insert it into the tool. Repeat for the second loop on the left side.

7. Now measure out your second tail, and trim the ribbon off.

8. Using the Bowdabra wand, scrunch the ribbon all down tightly.

9. Pull the wire up from beneath the Bowdabra Tool. Insert the wire ends through the wire loop and pull securely, holding the ribbon down with your other hand.

Here's a closer look at what that looks like.

10. Remove the bow from the Bowdabra Tool, and trim the wire ends.

11. To finish off my bow, I cut a small piece of ribbon, folded it over, and wrapped it around the center of the bow. This hides the wire, and makes a pretty center. This piece of ribbon can be stitched or glued in place.

Finally, adhere the ribbon in place to the top of  the decorated frame.

I then gave my ribbon tails a bit of a twist to finish it off!

Altair Art - Butterfly Box

 Hello, my friends!

I'm back today with a new project share

 as Brand Ambassador for Altair Art Scrapbooking Papers.

My project today features one of the most recent release collections.

It's called Butterfly Effect, and it's really fantastic!

It includes the most wonderful colors, designs, and elements!

Here's my project:

First, I made the box out of chipboard.

I used kraft cardstock to create a hinge, and for the punched border.

I added the border across the front, and on each side.

Then I had lots of fun decorating the box with the Butterfly Effect Collection.

These poppy papers are so gorgeous!

I fussy cut a number of poppies from the element sheet,

along with several other pieces.

I decorated the top with one of the pretty frames,

and then added several poppies, and a pretty butterfly.

I then went on to decorate the inside of the lid.

I used a beautiful poppy cluster, and another butterfly.

I have some fun plans to fill this box.

I'm back today with a new project share

 as Brand Ambassador for Altair Art Scrapbooking Papers.

Today I am featuring a recent release called:

On the Wings of the Rainbow Collection

It's such a lovely collection of papers and elements, 

with an assortment of both whimsy and elegance.

For my project today, I have chosen the elegant route.

In all the sorting and organizing I've been doing,

I recently came across a stash of pretty decorative plates.

Two of the plates were heart shaped.

With Valentine's Day right around the corner,

I thought I would decorate them,

using these beautiful papers. 

Here is the first one:

The green ribbon was already attached to the plate for hanging.

I made an impression of the heart in the center of the plate,

traced it onto the decorative paper, and cut it out.

I distressed the edges of the heart before adhering it to the center of the plate.

I fussy cut all the flowers and elements from the collection.

I began by placing the fussy cut floral wreath to the center of the background heart.

Then I added some extra leaves around the wreath

I used a combination of Best Glue Ever and foam tape.

The two butterflies had their wings folded up for some extra dimension.

I also distressed two of the mini tags, and added them to the bottom of the ribbon.

Here is the second plate.

It also had a green ribbon hanger.

I followed the same process with the background paper here.

This time I added a multitude of fussy cut flowers and leaves,

along with a piece of cheesecloth.

There's so much pretty dimension and texture in this grouping.

Here are the two plates side by side.

The one on the left measures 7 1/2" across it's widest point.

The one on the right is a little bit bigger at 9 1/4" across.

Aren't they pretty?

I think they'd make a wonderful Valentine's Day gift! ;o)

My Scrap Chick - Christmas in July!

Today I'm featuring the lovely new:

Christmas Star Gift Box.

It's such a fun little box that goes together so quick and easy!
It comes with several Sentiment options.
I used "Remember the Star"...which is perfect for Christmas!

I found the perfect papers in my stash,

and added a piece of acetate in the window.

It opens on the top and can be filled with treats!

I also used the extra little cutout stars to create an extra tag.

I layered them, punched a hole, and threaded a string through.

Makin's Clay® - Antique Vintage Charms

Hello, friends!

It's my turn on the Makin's Clay Blog today!

I'm sharing how to make these fun Antique Vintage Charms!
This is such a fun and easy project to make, 
and I really like the results! 
The hardest part of the whole job is cleaning up the mess 
left behind by the silver leafing! 😊

Here are my charms:

Materials Used:

Makin’s Clay® - Black Clay

Makin’s Clay® - Cutting Mat - Small

Mold for Key and Lock Charm;

ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever;

Silver Leafing;

Jump Rings;

Scruffy Paint Brush.

1.     Roll black clay into smooth round balls. Push into mold areas. Remove excess clay from back. Allow clay to dry in mold, or remove clay from mold and allow to dry. It works great either way.

2.    1. Squeeze a small amount of glue onto a scrap paper. Using your finger, dab a little bit of glue onto the charm pieces. Let the glue dry for a while, until it is just a little bit tacky.

    2. Lay the silver leafing onto the charms, covering all the tacky glue. Rub with your fingers. Then take the scruffy brush and burnish very well, brushing away all the excess leafing.

4.  3.  Add jump rings, and your piece is finished! Now it’s ready to use as an embellishment on any project, as shown in the first photo.Or you could add a chain, as shown in the photo below.

Isn't that great? Clay is so much fun!

Arnold Grummer - Sticky Note Book

Hello, my friends!

 I have a new project to share with you for Arnold Grummer.

Today I have created a fun Sticky Note Book,
using a kit from Arnold Grummer,
and then I've decorated it with a piece of handmade paper.

Here's what I made:

Here's What I Used:

Materials Used:

Arnold Grummer - Sticky Note Books Starter Kit;

Small Piece of Handmade Paper;

Stampendous - Wisteria Cottage Stamp Set;

Stampendous - Embossing Ink;

White Embossing Powder;

Nuance Powders - Blue, Green;

Paper - K & Company;

Small Piece of White Cardstock;

Offray Ribbon - White.

Here's How I did it:

1. Following the instructions on the kit, I assembled the Sticky Note Book. 

2. Using the embossing ink, I stamped the cottage image onto a 2 1/2" x 2 3/4" piece of handmade paper. I heat embossed it with the white embossing powder. 

3. I sprinkled the blue Nuance powder in the sky area, and the green Nuance powder in the grass area. Then I sprayed the piece with water until it looked as I wanted it to. I set it aside to dry.

4. I matted the inked piece with white cardstock.

5. I wrapped a piece of ribbon around the book, making sure it was long enough to tie in a bow. I adhered it in place on the front and the back.

6. I adhered the matted, inked piece in place on the front of the book.

This project came together really fast,

and it was lots of fun to make!

I like the way the embossing looks on the cover

Swedish House Crafts - Guest Spot

Hello, my friends!

I know it hasn't been very long since I was on the DT of Swedish House Crafts.
Today I am back with a Guest DT post for them! 
Maybe they missed me? ;o)

So I have a fun project to share with you!
I have combined a sweet Paper Nest Dolls image,
with some fun Laserowe Love products,
to create this fun hanging.
I think it would be a lovely "Baby Sleeping" sign!

I began with this sweet Hippo stamp from the Paper Nest Dolls - Hippos Stamp Set.

 I stamped it onto watercolour paper, using Ranger Archival Ink.

 I then used a variety of watercolour pencils, along with a water brush, to colour it. 

I set it aside to dry.

Then I moved on to the Laserowe Love - MDF - Bookmark D. 

I thought this would be the perfect base for my little hanging. 

I used a pretty paper from the Laserowe Love - Lily Flower Collection, 

and covered the front and the back of the MDF piece.

 I inked around it with a pretty turquoise ink. 

Next, I took the Laserowe Love - MDF - Frame Banner, using the front frame piece only. 

I covered the front with Stampendous Embossing Ink, 

then sprinkled it with Beach Cruiser Embossing Powder from Sparkle 'N Sprinkle. 

I then heat set it with my heat gun. 

I then repeated the process once more to get a really nice thick coating. 

Then I die-cut the coloured image in a circle to fit behind the embossed frame, 

and adhered it in place.

 I then adhered the framed piece onto the base piece. 

I added some pretty turquoise pearls; five along the top, and three on the bottom. 

Finally, I tied a pretty yellow ribbon into a double-looped bow, 

and added it to the top of the embossed frame.

 I also added another yellow ribbon loop to the top of the base piece to serve as a hanger. 

Now it can be hung on the wall, the door, or even from the door knob.

Hello, my friends!

Welcome to a new project share for Simply Crafty SVGs!

I'm interrupting my Box Card series this month,
and sharing some fun organizational files.

I've used:
Curvy 3-Drawer Organizer, 
and Curvy 1-Drawer Organizer.

These files are so fun to put together!
The hardest part is deciding which paper to use!

They stack perfectly on top of each other.

I think maybe I like them better this way:

Here's a little peek of the open drawers.

Maybe I need to make more and more,

 and stack them up really high!

That's how much fun they are!

I can't wait to fill them with lots of little bits!
