Lia Stampz - Challenge 46 - Color Scheme

Hello, my friends!
It's time for a fun new challenge over at Lia Stampz! It's a Color Scheme challenge and it's one of my favorite color schemes. Here is the inspiration photo:

Isn't that pretty? For my card I used the Lia Stampz image called "Gardening", and you can find it HERE at Whimsy Stamps. It was lots of fun to color. I used pinks and greens and filled my cards with flowers. The lovely sentiment is from StampArt Design by Kathryne.
I'd love to see some of you create a project using this color scheme and link up with us over at Lia Stampz! You have until the new challenge starts on August 15th! :o)

Hymn and Scripture Challenge #11 - Jesus Never Fails

Sunday Blessings to all of you, my friends!

I thought that Sunday morning would be a lovely time to schedule my next Hymn and Scripture Challenge page.
Jesus Never Fails!! Do you believe that?
People are people but Jesus is Lord! Friends, and even family, can turn against us, harm us, or abandon us. Even those that we think can be trusted...can sometimes turn out to be untrustworthy. Jesus never fails! He has promised to be with us...ALWAYS! He has promised that He will NEVER leave us! Deuteronomy 31:6 says:

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them,
for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."

Isn't that a beautiful promise? What a comfort it is for each of us!
The hymn "Jesus Never Fails" is also full of beautiful comfort. I have included all of the lyrics at the end of this post but I want to share the second verse here.

"Tho the sky be dark and drear,
Fierce and strong the gale,
Just remember He is near,
And He will not fail."

This is the verse that inspired my page. The background paper is for the "dark and drear". The title is bright yellow, as Jesus is our light in the storm. Although the letters are a little bit wind-tossed which comes from the next line "fierce and strong the gale." That line reminds me of times when I was a kid. When the wind was madly blowing and so strong you could hear it roar, I would go and stand in it with my eyes closed. Prairie winds can be something fierce! It always reminded me of the mighty power of the Lord. He directs the winds! He calms the winds! He is in control of the winds! "Just remember He is near, and He will not fail." This all means a little extra to me, as the winds are the biggest factor with my migraines. He is near me...in the midst of the pain! He will not fail me...in providing the strength I need! God is good! :o)
Anyways, back to my page. As I was reminded of standing in the wind as a child, I remembered this great Sushi Doll that Susi created called "Wind Through My Hair." She was the perfect addition to this page. The Sushi Doll eyes are fun to play with creatively. This time I just colored them closed. I have included the Scripture verse and the second verse of the song on my page. Then I just put together a few flowers and added them.
I pray that each of you will hold this promise close to you! He will never leave you or forsake you...Jesus never fails! :o)

I don't have a video to share with you today but here are the lyrics to the hymn:

Verse 1
Earthly friends may prove untrue,
Doubts and fears assail;
One still love and cares for you;
One who will not fail.

Chorus
Jesus never fails,
Jesus never fails;
Heav'n and earth may pass away
But Jesus never fails.

Verse 2
Tho' the sky be dark and drear,
Fierce and strong the gale,
Just remember He is near,
And He will not fail.

Verse 3
In life's dark and bitter hour
Love will still prevail;
Trust His everlasting pow'r,
Jesus will not fail.

Hello, my friends!

I've taken a little break from some DT projects to make this card. I really wanted to link up over at Twist of Faith Cards this week. You know it's one of my favorite places to participate! This week the sponsor is Digi Darla's. You know that's one of my favorites too! :o)

I managed to get exactly the size I wanted on the first try! lol I bought this butterfly stamp a long time ago and hadn't used it yet. It was just crying out to be embossed! Have you noticed that I seem to be into turquoise lately? Perhaps it's another favorite! I added a sentiment that is full of truth. We are all so blessed, aren't we? :o)

Sushi Dolls #14 - Sushi

Hello, my friends!

It's time for a new Sushi Doll card. This one is made using an image called "Sushi" that you can find in Susi's store right HERE. I believe it was part of the July release. This image is a self-portrait of Susi. Isn't she adorable?? I love how she's holding a paint brush.

I used some colorful paper from one of my favorite collections. I added some pretty ribbon and a little flower that looks like it's been spattered with paint. I used a new corner punch, added some bling, and the sentiment, and it was finished!

Pop on over to Susi's shop and take a look at some of her fabulous images! I'm excited about the one I get to play with next!  See you all soon! :o)

Stitchery Time!

Hello, my friends!

I'm back today to show you my newest stitchery. This time I used an adorable teddy bear image from StampArt Design by Kathryne called "Little Bear Ready For Bed". You can find it at Whimsy Stamps HERE. I've previously made a card with this sweet image. which you can see HERE.

Just like my last stitchery project. The design is stitched on muslin using DMC embroidery thread. The eyes and nose are outlined in black and then painted. I added some blush to their cheeks and ears. Again, I framed my finished piece with rick rack and fabric from my stash and turned it into a little quilted wall hanging. I added a few buttons and a ribbon bow! The finished piece measures 12" x 15".

This lovely image is just perfect for a stitching project! Wouldn't it make a cute baby sampler? The name/date/weight of a newborn could easily be stitched under the teddy bears!

Here's a bit of a closer view of the stitching:

Thanks for looking! I hope you're all having a joyful week! :o)

Sushi Dolls #13 - Soda Pop

Hello to all of you!!

I have a new Sushi Doll to show you today and her name is Soda Pop! It was part of the April release and you can find her in Susi's store HERE. Soda Pop is actually holding a little pop bottle in her hand. You can't see it, of course, because I covered it with flowers. My original plan for this card changed as I was went along, so the soda pop didn't really work anymore.

Susi's DT call is over and we have some very talented new members. I hope to have them linked up in my sidebar very soon!

My card is a gate-fold card. The wonderful Scripture verse is one from a set from Kathryne at StampArt Design by Kathryne. It's available at Whimsy Stamps right HERE for a bargain price!

I hope you've all been having a great week! I'll be back with more to show you soon! :o)
