Back to School Mini Album for Printable Cuttable Creatables

  Hello, my friends!

Today I'm sharing a new project for Printable Cuttable Creatables!

 This week I am featuring:

Back To School Scrap Kit

This is such a fun kit!
It includes SVGs, clipart, and digital papers.
It was everything I needed to put together a fun little mini album. 

This album is perfect for documenting going back to school!
It's been many years since I've had kids going to school

but I can still feel the excitement in the air this time of year.

Here's the cover of my album:

I used 5 x 7 chipboard pieces for the base of my album.
Otherwise, everything is from the kit.
I printed out the papers and used them to cover the chipboard.
I inked around the edges with red ink.
The "Back To School" element was printed, fussy cut,
and adhered in place. 
I really love to fussy cut!

Here I used another paper to cover both sides.
More fussy cut elements were turned into belly band and tuck spot.
The polka dot paper is used as a photo mat throughout the album.

Here I have another background paper,

along with another tuck spot and belly band.
The chalkboard in the center was fun to make!
What I did was fussy cut two of the chalkboard elements.
I adhered them together - back to back - only on the sides and bottom.
I then added red eyelets, so it could be inserted in the album.

Here you see the other side of the chalkboard.
It is now a pocket for a sweet little journaling pad.

I cut papers to fit the pocket,
and then just stapled a topper in place that matches the background paper.

The fussy cut bus and pencil offer more tuck spots.

On the final pages, 

more elements and more tuck spots.

To finish things off, I punched holes and added binding rings.
I tied pieces of coordinating ribbons to the rings.

This is a really fun kit that inspires all kinds of creative projects;
both for documentation and for gifts! ;o)

Art Journal Fun with Printable Cuttable Creatables

  Hello, my friends!

I'm excited to be sharing my first post for Printable Cuttable Creatables!

Today I'm sharing a tutorial on how I put this art journal page together,
using some great cut files from the shop! 

Here's my page:

Here's how I made it:

I began by sprinkling some watercolor powders onto my art journal page.
I spritzed it with water, until I had the look I wanted.
I then set it aside to dry.

I then went to Cricut Design Space and uploaded:

Beach Sea Shells Monogram Frame SVG File;

Life is the Bubbles SVG Cut File Title.

 

On my canvas in CDS, I inserted the Title into the Frame,

and sized it to fit on my journal page.

I then used the print/cut feature to cut out my design.

Now I come back to my colored journal page.

It's important that the journal page be completely dry before adding the cut file.

Otherwise things won't stick properly.
Isn't that sparkle pretty? :o)

Now...here's a trick to make the positioning of the cut file very simple.

I remove my paper from the mat, 

leaving the cut design in place on the mat.

I position the paper in place on my journal page,

exactly where I want to add the design.

Then it's as simple as putting a puzzle together.
I take a piece of the design off of my mat,
and adhere it in place on my journal page.
I like to use my ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever,
along with the No-Clog Writing Cap.

Here's my page with the design perfectly positioned!

 I added a nice coat of glossy accents to each of the bubbles.
It adds some lovely shine to go with all the background sparkle.

Finally, I added some sequins in a variety of colors!

I had so much fun creating this page!

Pink Monarch Prints - Polka Dot Page!

    Hello, my friends!

Today I have a new project share for Pink Monarch Prints.
I was really feeling these wonderful polka dot papers.
The printable collection includes 32 pages in 8 colours.
There are 4 styles of pages in each of the 8 colours.
They range from plain polka dot up to beautifully distressed polka dots.

I've made this fun page in my new Julie Nutting TN,
along with a Julie Nutting Doll stamp.
I meant to take a photo of the actual TN cover because it's fabulous.
I'll do that in a future post. 

Here's my page:

I chose the blue polka dot for the background.
After adhering it in place, I had fun stamping the elements from the stamp set.

 

I added a little bit if yellow to the bees with my pencil crayons.

I also added stickles to the bees wings and the flower.

Then I added my very first wax seal!

I used some Christmas money to order a set of wax and some seals.
You'll be seeing lots more seals in future posts.

They are SO MUCH fun!

 

I stamped and fussy cut the main images onto more polka dot papers.
Paper piecing is so much fun!
The tan polka-dots worked beautifully for her skin

I then went in and did a little bit of shading with my pencil crayons.

I had so much fun making this page!

I'll be sharing LOTS more Julie Nutting pages as soon as I can find the rest of my stamps.
I have no idea which box they're in! ;o)

Pink Monarch Prints - Mini Christmas Journal

  Hello, my friends!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Today I have a new project share for Pink Monarch Prints.

It seems that no matter how early I start thinking about my Christmas projects
...I always run out of time! 
Does that happen to you too?
I had great intentions of creating a December Daily of some sort.
We've had a lot going on in our life,
so I thought I would finally have things that needed to be documented. ;o)

Well...it turned out that all these things going on ate up too much of my time.
I adjusted my thinking, and instead of a December Daily format,
I decided to go for more of a Christmas Week format.

Originally, I thought maybe a page or two per day would be just right.
Then I started playing and it came out with more pages.
That's not a bad thing, right?

Now I have this adorable little journal that was great fun to put together.
Today I'm showing you the finished cover and a few inside pages.
I haven't yet found the box that holds my tripod,
so I won't have a flip-through for a while yet. 

The journal cover is made of chipboard, and measures almost 4" x 5".
I used the Eileen Hull Notebook Die.

Then I added paper, a label, and a pretty fussy cut poinsettia;

all from Pink Monarch Prints.

I used a couple of tags to create the closure.

All the bits and pieces in this collection coordinate beautifully!

I created two signatures that I tied into the cover using baker's twine.
I inked the baker's twine to help it match better.

I lined the inside covers with more pretty papers from the collection.

I added several coffee died papers.
Some are undercut pages...

...and some are fold-outs.

On the right side I added one of the fun window pockets.
You can see that mine is empty. 
I have LOTS of bits and pieces to decorate this album,
and there's lots of great space to write in. 

An album like this comes together so quickly.
Since it's a digital kit, you can buy/print/create super fast,
and have it all ready to document the season!

Pink Monarch Prints - Autumn Loaded Envelope Pages

 Hello, my friends!

As many of you know, I love to make Fall projects!
I also try to make a new album, in one form or another, every year!
I usually combine Fall with Thanksgiving when I can.

Our Canadian Thanksgiving was back in October
but I'm squeaking this one in right before the US Thanksgiving.
However, as I always say, every day is Thanksgiving Day for me! :o)

This year I have decided on an album with a ring binding
and kraft cardstock pages.

Today I'm sharing my first pages and I'll be back with more soon. 
These pages were all decorated with digital products from Pink Monarch Prints.
I used the Autumn Loaded Envelope Kit.
This kit is jam-packed with tags, pockets, cards and more. 
They're so fun to play with and you can mix and match any way you want.

Here's what I did:

Above, you can see the envelope all put together on my kraft page.

Below, you can see everything pulled out.
I added a piece of lace for a tag pull,
and a strip of brown packing paper for another one. 
I also added a little bit of cheesecloth behind some layers.
Everything else is from the kit.

Here's the second page:

Again, here's everything pulled out.
This time I added another lace tag pull.
I added a small brad to the top of the "giving"
and put a garment pin through it.
I also added some small burlap bits. 

Here's my third and final page:

Here's everything pulled out.
I added only some bits of brown packing paper,
using one for a tag pull again.

 These pages were so much fun to put together!

I printed all the kit pages, and fussy cut everything out. 

I inked all the edges with distress ink.

Then I just had fun assembling everything the way I wanted.

All the pieces were included in the kit,

other than the items mentioned.
