Junk Journal Inserts for Rach and Bella Crafts

   Hello, my friends!

I'm busy working on my February journal for Rach & Bella Crafts!

I'm using the beautiful Shades of Spring Junk Journal Kit.

Today I'm popping in to show you some inserts I made.
I've got two collaged Memory Dex Scripture cards.
These will be included in my finished journal,
and have been put together using bits from the same kit.

Take a look:

The background is a paper from the kit.
It was die-cut and then inked.
Then I went on to add all the layers.

Here's a closer look:

Here I added flowers, stamps and some ephemera bits.
Everything was fussy cut and inked.
The Scripture verse was tucked in place.
Finally, I added the word on top of a bit of cheesecloth.

Here's a closer look at the second one:

Again, I added flowers and ephemera to the base.
I added the Scripture verse, and the word on top of some cheesecloth.

Both of these cards will be tucked into my finished junk journal.
Such pretty bits of Spring! :o)
I'll be back soon to share a flip-through of my finished journal!

Memorydex Scripture Card for White Rose Crafts

 Happy Tuesday, my friends!

It's time for another project for White Rose Crafts LLC

This week I am sharing another Memorydex Scripture Card.
If you missed my first Scripture Cards, you will find them HERE!

As you know, I always enjoy using Scripture verses in my projects.
For the base of my card, I again used one of the Heidi Swapp Memorydex File Cards.

Here's the front of my card:

As always, the front of my card contains the Bible reference of my verse.
I also added a cute stamp, that coordinates with the main stamp I used on the other side.
I also used some fun papers, and added some white Nuvo Drops.

Here's the back of my card:

Here I used the main stamp and some more great papers.
I also added some more fun Nuvo Drops.
I always like to hand-write my Scripture verse and reference.
I find that it really helps me remember them.

A true friend really does love at all times!
Please be a friend to someone today! :o)

A Joyful Card!

Hello, my friends!
Can you believe it's already Wednesday? This week seems to be passing very quickly! Is it the same for you? I've been very busy with a number of different projects that I will share soon. Today I stopped to make this card for a couple of my favorite challenges!
First of all, Twist of Faith Cards Challenge is having a "shaped card" challenge. I cut my card out of red cardstock in a fishtail banner shape. Then I proceeded to cover it all up with more banners and pennants. You can still see that it's shaped though, right? lol
Secondly, I wanted to participate in Digi Darla's "Take me out to the ball game..." challenge. You're to include a banner, pennant or flag on your project. I think I've got that one covered! I've used a Digi Darla image that I won last week. Isn't he cute? He's called "Blowing Paper Windmill" and he's actually holding a little pinwheel in his hand, and blowing on it.  I took the liberty of replacing it with the little "joy" flag for this card, and decided that he is either singing or whistling!
Thirdly, Word Art Wednesday is always on my link up list! I love to join them!
I had an idea of the Scripture verse I wanted to use on this card but couldn't find anything like it in my files. So I went ahead and made one myself using Psalm 33:3. Isn't it perfect for this card?  Hope you're all having a wonderful week. Perhaps you could all find time to do some singing and/or shouting for JOY! :o)

I'm sharing it here in case anyone else would like to take it and use it.
Please help yourself! Let me know if it works! lol
If you make something with it I would love to see it,
and it would be sweet if you let people know where it came from! :o)

Some Comfort For A Friday!

Happy Friday, my beautiful friends!
Thanks so much for popping in again! I'm jumping right in with my second participation post with Twist of Faith Card Challenges! This week is Challenge #2...Comfort, and that's what my card is all about!
I love this verse found in Jeremiah 31:13. The entire verse is:

"Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well.
I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow."

Yes, the Lord is my source of comfort and joy! I've had a crazy "Murphy" kind of day here today! lol  I'm thankful that I can finish this post and sit down with a hot cup of tea and enjoy some quiet time of prayer and meditation! :o)

Just A Little Kindness!

Hello my dear Friends!
Okay...I've tried starting this post three times...now I'm just going to spit it out! lol What has happened to KINDNESS?? As I was making my rounds of facebook, youtube and blogger I was so saddened to see how many people are dealing with hurt feelings because of mean comments people have left for them. There seems to be a trend going on these days. A trend of being unkind to each other. Have you seen it? How do you feel about it? I don't like it at all!
Then I went to my sweet friend Holly's blog and she had a wonderful quote about kindness (HERE). It said:

Always be a little kinder than necessary.
J.M. Barrie

Isn't that wonderful! By the way, I would encourage you to pop over and join Holly's blog, it's FABULOUS! Her posts are always short so they never take much time! lol Sometimes they are very thought provoking, and sometimes they are hilarious but they are always very encouraging! :o)
Anyways, after reading Holly's post I was inspired to create a post of my own about kindness. Of course, my favorite quotes always come from the Bible! 1 Thessalonians 5:15 says:

Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong,
but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.

The verse I used on my card is the first half of Ephesians 4:32. The entire verse says:

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other,
just as in Christ God forgave you!

I chose this verse because it really covers both ends of what I've seen. We are told to be kind. Since there are those that choose to be unkind...we are then told to be compassionate and forgiving. It certainly doesn't help the situation to be unkind back to someone who has been unkind to us. Perhaps we could maybe try to understand why they were being unkind in the first place. I think there are lots of very unhappy and hurting people in the world, and sometimes they just feel better if they lash out and make someone else feel a little bit of what they themselves are feeling. That can't be a fun way to live, can it? On the other hand, there are those that aren't even aware that they have been mean because they just don't know any better. Well, I say we should just start spreading as much kindness as we can and teach them better! I don't know how to do that other than by one act of kindness at a time; a smile :o), a kind comment, and an encouraging word! Oh, let's not forget forgiving the unkindness of those that don't know better! :o)
Hmmm...maybe we need to start a Kindness Challenge of some kind...

Happy Monday!

Hello, my friends! Happy Monday to you all! I have a new card to share with you today. I was excited about this card for two reasons. First of all, I finally had a chance to colour one of Pamela's fun images from Free Vintage Digital Stamps. You can find her blog HERE or look for her button in my sidebar. Secondly, I'm using one of the first Scripture rubber stamps that I've managed to purchase. I don't know why it's so hard to buy Scripture stamps! Either the shipping is too high, or the stamps themselves are too expensive! Why is that? I was so happy to find this set at one of my favorite Canadian shops...on sale! This one is from a Heartfelt Creations set called Trust in the Lord. This image of the little girl reading reminded me of my girls when they were little. They always loved to read, and carried their stacks of books around the house with them! lol The Scripture verse was always my prayer as a Mother...that I would follow the Lord's leading as I guided my girls! I wish you all much JOY this week! :o)

Be Still and Know...

Yay...I've got an earlier start this week! This is my card for the Challenge #16 over at Word Art Wednesday HERE. Cassandra made another beautiful Word Art. It's one of my favorite Scripture verses and I know some of you will have seen me use it on projects before.
This photo holds special memories for me. It was taken very early one quiet morning. Is there anything like the quiet stillness of an empty forest? Of course, a forest is never really empty, is it? There's a wonderful peace and stillness even with all the forest inhabitants. It's a wonderful time and place to "be still" and listen to the Lord! I hope you all a week of happy days! :o)

A New Tag!

Happy Wednesday, everyone! It's been a while since I've made a tag. I was inspired to do so by a GORGEOUS one I received in my mailbox this week! I linked this one up earlier this morning at Word Art Wednesday when there were only 9 minutes left to do so! lol Now I've come back to finish up my post. Life has been keeping me from my play time this week. I haven't done my blog rounds either but I hope to take care of some of that soon, and don't even get  me started on my email situation! lol
Okay, so on to my tag! The picture didn't turn out too bad considering how dark it was when I took it this morning. Some of the "lightness" of it actually shows. The orange ribbon came with a recent order that I made from Layers of Color. My stamps were wrapped in lovely tissue with this ribbon around them. It has a beautiful shimmery iridescence to it that worked well with my light theme. I just had to make my yoyo flower from the leftover piece. Anyways, seen in person, the whole tag looks like a light is shining from it. I'm not quite sure how it happened but I like it! :o)

Second Post Today? I'm Shocked Too!!

I'm happy to be entering this card in Word Art Wednesday Challenge #14. The wonderful Word Art was created by Cassandra from Word Art Wednesday. I'm also entering this at Little Birdie Blessings Scripture Thursday. Both links will be below. The first picture had to be redone because all of the rhinestones showed up red. The red top I was wearing was reflecting in them...so funny! So I changed out of my red Valentine top to take this photo! If you missed my first post of the day, please scroll down and take a look. I hope you've all enjoyed a lovely Valentine's Day! :o)
