Beatrix Potter Tags for Rach and Bella Crafts

     Hello, my friends!

I'm still busy working on my journal project for Rach & Bella Crafts!

In the meantime, I have been making some additional journal bits.
This time I am sharing some fun tags, using:

The Works of Beatrix Potter

These would be lovely tucked into a Beatrix Potter journal,
or even a Spring/Easter journal!

 Here they are:

I used the tags from the kit, and backed them with cardstock.
The images and words were all fussy cut from the kit.
I tucked a bit of cheesecloth behind each image for some added texture.
To finish things off I added a sparkly ribbon bow to the top of each tag.

Quotes from the kit were added to the back of each tag.

Here's another set:

The back of those:

These were lots of fun to put together!
There's room on the back to add some journaling too!

Beatrix Potter Journal/Quote Cards for Rach and Bella Crafts

    Hello, my friends!

I'm busy working on a very fun and involved project for Rach & Bella Crafts!
I just hope it turns out like the idea in my head! ;o)

In the meantime, I have been making some additional journal bits.
This time I am sharing some fun journal/quote cards, using:

The Works of Beatrix Potter

These could be lovely greeting cards, or journal tucks.

 Here they are:

Aren't those images lovely?
They are actually journal pages that I printed four to a page.
I inked them and then matted them with green cardstock.
Finally, I added some sparkly Stickles to all the flowers.

There is a wonderful quote/sentiment page included in the kit.
I added a quote to the back of each card.

This is such a lovely kit!
I've been a long-time fan of Beatrix Potter,
so it's a really great kit to work with.

Junk Journal Inserts for Rach and Bella Crafts

   Hello, my friends!

I'm busy working on my February journal for Rach & Bella Crafts!

I'm using the beautiful Shades of Spring Junk Journal Kit.

Today I'm popping in to show you some inserts I made.
I've got two collaged Memory Dex Scripture cards.
These will be included in my finished journal,
and have been put together using bits from the same kit.

Take a look:

The background is a paper from the kit.
It was die-cut and then inked.
Then I went on to add all the layers.

Here's a closer look:

Here I added flowers, stamps and some ephemera bits.
Everything was fussy cut and inked.
The Scripture verse was tucked in place.
Finally, I added the word on top of a bit of cheesecloth.

Here's a closer look at the second one:

Again, I added flowers and ephemera to the base.
I added the Scripture verse, and the word on top of some cheesecloth.

Both of these cards will be tucked into my finished junk journal.
Such pretty bits of Spring! :o)
I'll be back soon to share a flip-through of my finished journal!

Some Junk Journal Inserts for Rach and Bella Crafts

  Hello, my friends!

I'm busy working on a new journal for Rach & Bella Crafts!

Today I'm popping in to show you a couple of the inserts I've made.

First, I have these lovely tags:

These lovely large tags are from the Words of Devotion Tags and Labels Kit.
The Scripture verses on them are so lovely!
I've inked all the edges and backed them with kraft cardstock.
There's lots of room to journal on the back.
To finish them off, I stapled a little piece of shimmery ribbon.

The second insert to show you today is this:

This sweet file folder is part of the Vintage Pink Journal Kit,
which is the main kit I'm using for my journal.
I distressed the edges with both ink and my distressing tool.
The pretty butterflies and hearts were included,
and I just sparkled them up with some Stickles.
The "Words of Devotion" is actually the title from the Scripture tags above.
I thought it made a great title for this lovely little notebook.

The pages inside are a combination of tea dyed and lined notebook pages.
I cut the pages to fit and rounded the corners to match.
I used my WRMK Magnetic Staple Board, along with their pink staples,
to fasten everything together.

All these items are ready to be tucked inside my Vintage Pink Journal!
I'll be back to share a flip-through once it's finished.

Nanna's Antique Lace Junk Journal for RachandBella Crafts

 Hello, my friends!

I'm back with my finished November Junk Journal for Rach & Bella Crafts!
This was such a lovely combination of products to work with.

Here's my video flip through of this journal:

Some notes about this journal:

I made the journal cover to match the main collection, using fabric and laces.
I also shared a tutorial on my shaker tag, HERE.
There is a fabric wrap closure.

You can see a closer look at the Abbott Fuller Graves Cards HERE.

I added tea dyed paper, kraft and white parchment papers.
I like the way they crinkle in a journal.

Tags are backed with cardstock and topped with lace.
I used a lace border punch on a couple of pages.

Lots of room for writing in this journal!

Pretty Cards For My November Journal for RachandBellaCrafts

Hello, my friends!

I'm back with a new project post for Rach & Bella Crafts!

Last week I shared with you a peek at my November journal project;
with a look at my cover and some tags.

This week I am sharing another part of this journal.

These beautiful cards are made with the Ladies of Abbott Fuller Graves Collection.
I thought they would look really pretty in my lace journal.

I matted them all with cardstock.
Then I added either a Scripture verse, or a word, along with a little bit of cheesecloth.

When I was putting them together,
I tried to match the verse/word with the image.

I think they're really lovely,
and I'm excited to add them to my journal!

A Peek at My November Junk Journal Project for Rach and Bella Crafts

Hello, my friends!

I'm back with my first November post for Rach & Bella Crafts!

This week I'm starting with a little look at the beginnings of my new journal.
I'm also sharing a tutorial on how to make a quick and easy shaker tag!

First, here's a look at the journal cover I made, and some of the tags.

Can you see the theme here?
The main kit I'm using is Nanna's Antique Lace.
I also have some other fun goodies that I'll share next time.

* * * * *

Now...onto the tag tutorial:

I started by cutting out the tag from the kit.
Can you see the sequins among the lace?
That is what inspired this tag.
I then cut a slightly larger tag from kraft cardstock.

Next, I grabbed two nesting oval dies.
These dies are two sizes apart, which works very well.

Using the larger of the two dies, I cut two pieces of acrylic.

I layered the tags together, ensuring that the kraft tag framed the pretty lace image tag.
Then I cut the smaller oval out of the center of both tags.

I then glued the acrylic ovals onto the wrong side of each tag.
This is why it's nice to use a die two sizes larger.
It gives you room to work with.
I then left them alone to dry.
Once they were completely dry,
I positioned the sequins and beads onto the oval of the kraft tag.

I added a generous bead of glue around the oval of the other tag,
and adhered it in place over the other tag, sandwiching all the bits in between.
Leave it alone to dry completely.
If you move it around before it's dry, some of the bits can get into the glue bead.

See how easy that is?
It makes such a pretty addition to my junk journal!

Fall Themed Cards for Rach and Bella Crafts

Hello, my friends!

I'm back to share a new project for Rach & Bella Crafts!

This week I am sharing several cards that I made,
using the same Fall Friends Junk Journal Kit.

It's such a versatile collection and so fun to play with!

Here are my cards:

These images were all fussy cut from one of the journal pages.
I adhered them to the card base, and then added some crystal drops and a bow.

To the inside I added another fussy cut image,
along with one of the Give Thanks Ephemera Cards.

Now my second card:

Again, I fussy cut all the pretty images from one of the journal pages.
This time I added the Scripture card to the front.

You can see a peek of another fussy cut image on the inside of the card.

To finish this one off, I added some pretty dots of liquid pearls.

My final card:

Again, a fussy cut image from a journal page.

Here I added the Scripture card to the inside of the card.

To finish it off, I added some Nuvo Drops and a double looped bow.

Junk Journal Collections can be used in so many creative ways!
These kits are digital, and can be printed over and over.
I use them for cards, tags, art journaling...and of course, for making journals! :)

With Thanksgiving Tag Book for Rach and Bella Crafts

Hello, my friends!

It's time for a new project for Rach & Bella Crafts!

This week I am sharing a fun tag book,
created with fabulous printables from the shop.
I'm calling it my "With Thanksgiving" Tag Book,
as you can see from my cover.
I also added the word "Joy" because I'm all about the JOY! :o)

Here is my tag book:

As I've mentioned before...we have recently celebrated our Thanksgiving here in Canada.
The US is going to be celebrating next month.
I always like to think of every day as Thanksgiving Day!
I believe that being grateful makes us joyful!

The idea with this tag book is to make record of
ALL that we have to be grateful for.
To the back side of each tag I have added a belly band.
Then I have inserted a journal card into each belly band.
I have also added a word, as a prompt for the gratitude list.

For example, here you can list several areas of beauty that you are thankful for:
the beautiful Fall foliage,
your beautiful friends,
or your own beautiful face.

Here, make a list of some things that you know to be true:
God loves you,
Winter follows Fall,
tomorrow is another day.

I think you get the idea! ;o)

So many lovely images on these tags!

The little tags have been included in between the big ones.
I added the final belly band/journal card on the inside of the back tag.

Then used this pretty tag for the back:

To finish things off, I added a binding ring to the top of the tags.
I tied several coordinating ribbons around the ring.
I also added some buttons to a bulb pin, and included it on the ring.

This would make a sweet gift, wouldn't it?
Or use it with your family at Thanksgiving,
and fill out all the pages together!

"Give Thanks" Art Journal Page for Rach and Bella Crafts

Hello, my friends!

Today I'm very happy to be sharing my first DT post for Rach & Bella Crafts!

Each month I will share several projects/posts using a digital kit from Rachel's shop.
She's got great digital printable kits that are ideal for junk journals,
but can be used in so many other ways!

My first project is this art journal page:

We just celebrated our Canadian Thanksgiving this past weekend.
With that in mind I made this page.

I pulled out my art journal, and made my background with Color Burst powders.

On this page I did some simple collage,
with the Scripture card being the focus.

On this page, I used the musical sunflower piece to create a pocket.
Into the pocket I tucked two of the beautiful postcards!
They're the ideal spot for some private journaling.
