Christmas Cards for Polka Art Studio

    Hello, my friends!

Today I have another fun project for Polka Art Studio!

I have made a collection of Christmas cards,
using only two collections from the shop:

 Beige Bliss Decorative Papers Collection,

and Beige Bliss Fussy Cuts Collection.

The joy of using digital printable collections is that you can get started immediately!
So you still have lots of time to get some projects finished!
Also, the joy of using these particular collections - they're GORGEOUS!
Plus...there are so many more images for me to use.

Before we get started, I'll give you a little rundown of what I did.
I first printed out the images that I wanted to use, and fussy cut them out.
I then printed out the papers, and decided which image which go with which paper.
Then it was just a matter of choosing some coordinating cardstock,
along with some suitable dies.
I inked all the edges, and adhered everything in place.
Finally, I added some sequins, stickles, twine/ribbon, or buttons;
whatever worked best!

Here we go:

It's a beautiful collection to play with!

As you can see...I made a variety of projects...from elegant to vintage!
I even included a small gift bag and pillow box.
The possibilities are endless!

Tuck Tags for Polka Art Studio

   Hello, my friends!

Today I have another fun new project for Polka Art Studio!

I am busy working on a full journal,
which I hope to share with you next week.

Today I want to share some sweet tuck tags that I made.
These will be tucked into the finished journal.

I had so much fun making these!

Here they are:

Although these all look like they have great dimension,
they are actually nice and flat.
That makes them perfect to tuck into a journal and not add any bulk.

I used a couple of printable papers for the tag background,
and adhered them all onto a kraft cardstock base.

The sweet little girl images were all printed, fussy cut,
and adhered in place.

I then printed/fussy cut all the words and sentiments and added them to each tag.
I added a little bit of cheesecloth under several of them.

You may have noticed that I didn't even add a ribbon
or a tab to the top of these tags.
It's unusual for me, I know.
However, these tags just don't need it, do they? :o)

Today I'm sharing another art journal page that I put together,
using the beautiful Brave Beauties Collection from Paper Craftivity.

This is a digital printable junk journal kit,
and the creative possibilities are endless.

Here's my page:

Again, I started with a Prima Metallic Watercolor Painted background.
The stenciling was done with distress ink and a Creative Expressions Stencil.
Then I used a BoBunny Texture Stamp to add a little dimension to the background.

To this side, I added several of the fussy cut elements from the collection.

On this side, I added a pocket, and inserted a journaling card.
I also added a fussy cut butterfly.

Here is the entire journaling card...isn't she adorable?
I cut the card out and backed it with kraft cardstock.

These are the rest of the journaling cards...
all ready for future projects!

This is such a wonderful collection FULL of fun!

February Remember Journal Pages & Some Other Journal Fun

Happy Friday, my friends!

Today I'm sharing my February pages in my Remember Journal.

I also have some other fun journal projects to share.
It's been a productive week around here!

Here's a look at some fabric journal covers that I've made:

I have seriously downsized my fabric collection,
yet I still have as much fabric as I do paper! ;o)

These fabric covers are all lined with a coordinating paper.
Several of them are themed...inside and out.
Here's a peak at the insides:

This will be my Easter Journal,
and it's the first one that I'm going to fill!

Now...onto my Remember Journal pages:

As I mentioned in my initial journal post,
this journal is a combination of tea dyed paper,
and lace paper from Caroline's Etsy Shop.

The images are all from the monthly printables from Caroline.
The fairy in the mason jar is just too cute.

Above, I tucked it behind two pretty tickets.
Below, I tucked another one into the lovely pocket.

On the right, I used half of a floral strip as a belly band for the postcard.

On the final February page,
I used the other half of the floral strip.
The flap of the envelope tucks over it.

I'm now ready to get started on my March pages.
I'll be back to share them next month.

I'll add a Remember Journal Label in my sidebar,
in case you're interested in following my progress in this journal.

Kate Hadfield Designs - Springity Spring Mini Album

Hello, my friends!

I am very happy to be a Guest DT for February with

Kate Hadfield Designs,

I'll be sharing two posts full of these fabulous products!
Since Spring is right around the corner I am featuring:

Springity Spring Doodle Collection,

and Blues 'N Greens Alphabet.

I've made a fun mini album:

This Collection is FULL of the loveliest Spring themed doodles.
They are all hand drawn by Kate.
I had the best time putting it all together.

Here is a little Spring butterfly charm,
that I added to the binding wire.

I planned my pages out in my mind,
and then got busy in Cricut Design Space.
I sized everything to fit on a six inch page,
and then used the print/cut feature for all the images I wanted.

I went ahead and filled my white pages with all the pretty doodles.
Then I realized that an album should have room for photo and journaling, right?
I inserted tags behind all of the images during the final assembly.

There is such a great assortment of images.

April showers...

...bring May flowers!

Of course, there must be some birds.

I ended it all with a pretty rainbow.

These doodles are so much fun to play with!
The selection of Collections in the shop are fantastic!
So many creative possibilities,
and great products for the kids to have fun too!

Some of the Collections are available in Bundles.
They include both coloured and images for you to colour yourself
So much fun!

My New "REMEMBER" Journal Project

Hello, my friends!

As I mentioned in a previous post,
I've had some free time lately to work on some fun new creative projects.
Today I'm sharing one of them.

This will be a "work in progress" over 2021.
In previous years I have worked on calendar pages each month.
This year I will be sharing monthly journal pages.

I recently discovered Caroline's Craft Tree.
I'll add all her links below so that you can go check her out.
In 2020, she gifted her youtube viewers with some beautiful monthly printables.
These fun files included birth month flowers and birthstones,
along with coordinating pockets, and tags, and more.
That is what inspired this journal project.

Here is the unfinished cover.
I've simply added a beautiful lace paper from Caroline's Etsy Shop.

I have used a file folder for the base,
and stitched two signatures into the spine, using a simple pamphlet stitch.

The two signatures are made up of tea dyed papers
in between more of the pretty lace papers.
The lace papers come in a wonderful variety of colours,
so I tried to plan it out to coordinate with the monthly colours.

There are more lace papers lining the inside of the covers.
The file folder was folded up to form a pocket,
and I've added a pretty trim
.
Then we begin with January:

I've added a tab for each month, with six months in each signature.
There will be four pages for each month,
and then the second half of the signature for all the extra bits.

I will be using the tags and journaling cards
to document all the important dates I need to remember,
along with any special events that may happen.

This is the last January page.
It holds a pretty pocket with another large tag for journaling.

I have to say that I've had a really great time putting this all together.
The fun will continue as I fill the pages each month.

* * * * *

I'll be back soon to share my February pages!
I hope you come back to see them,
and maybe you'll consider putting together a journal of your own!
